I first heard about it, and saw the label, in March and got really excited.

Almost 8 months later and nothing?

Anyone know what the hold up is?

    DirtWolf needs some competition...

Had it at the Big Brew Fest in Morristown, it's pretty good.

But yeah, Peerless hasn't seen it in bottles yet either.

I talked to people at the brewery last night - Blast should be coming out in 4-packs in December. Wild Streak, their new wild ale, will be out in January or February in 750's. You know you're coming to the release party with me when these get released, so don't worry.

Wow, thanks man! I should have realized to ask you before I posted this thread..
Can't wait for both of them!
Is that Brooklyn's first wild ale? I don't think I remember ever seeing any from them.. But more wilds on the market is definitely a great thing.

Their first "released" wild ale. They have Wild One, Brett Ops, and Kriek which Garrett brings out to Ghost Bottle nights, but never have been for sale. There will be other wilds next year too. Confirmed this last night, but didn't get specifics on exactly what is being released.

Also FYI, Wild Streak is a completely different beer than Wild One, which was just Local 1 made with a weird/wild yeast strain.

Yeah, last time I was at the brewery a few weeks ago they said December-January for Blast bottles. We told them they should set aside a few cases to sell out of the brewery whenever they bottle a batch. as far as wilds go, they also have the Cuvee Croquet Rouge beers, which is Local 1 aged on different wine less (which have brettanomyces in them).

To back up what Crookdrain said(and nice meeting you last night) they have never sold a wild ale. Several have been made but never sold. The Cuvee riesling lees was amazing though

Yup, didn't mean to imply that these had been sold in the past (though I certainly hope they are at some point in the future). The kriek is probably the only one of their wild beers I haven't gotten to try.

Thrilled to see this finally hit stores.

Been drinking it on draft for a few years now, no reason to think the bottles will disappoint.

$11.99/4 at WF is a pretty good price point to, IMO.

$3 a bottle is laughable for a local beer. I'll continue to drink Flower Power/Union Jack for the same price but in six packs

    Disagree regarding price.
I saw it at WF without a price label, but it was in between Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout and Monster. Both of those were priced 9.99, so I assumed this 4pk would be the same price.
Got to the register with two 4pks and was shocked to see they were asking $12 each. I bought both, but don't think I will be buying much more at this price point.
Dirt Wolf for a few bucks less will likely be my next pickup instead of this one.

BCS is $8.99/4 at most WF's, which I think is a steal. I haven't seen monster still sitting on shelves at any WF.

Best I've seen dirt wolf at was $10.50, so I'm not complaining spending .40c more for a bottle, especially when Blast was JUST bottled and should be drinking fresher.

I was at the WF at Union Square, they had all three Brooklyn 4pks next to each other.
My fault for making an assumption regarding the price, I was just confused how this was priced a full 33% above their regular 4pk pricing. I view Brooklyn as one of the most affordable brews in their respective classes, which is great considering BCS's quality, which makes me wonder what they were thinking when they priced Blast.
FYI same WF had fresh DirtWolf at 9.99

I dont know if they are still doing this but the WF in Brooklyn at 3rd and 3rd had Blast on sale last week for the open for 9.99 a 4 pack

They hit NJ today. Saw em for $8.99/4 pack.

The packaging is TERRIBLE. can't believe they basically said eh, lets just take the BCS packaging and use red writing.
