I agree to an extent, but I've had good homebrews and I've had good mr. beer. and there, to me, is a night and day difference. Even the best batch I made, was kind of a "meh" experience. i think its good for getting yourself ready, but I feel like its the first of many steps. And Im ready to take the next step. I've seen doctored mr. beer kits with grain, but eh.

Welp, I'm just going to go ahead and disagree with you. And that's ok. I am not a fan of the beers I've had from Mr. Beer. That's all there really is to it.

Mr. Beer free-zones might be the way to go. : )

Brooklyn Brew Shop makes some great kits. I have the Everyday IPA and Chestnut Brown kits, though I plan on modifying them a bit. They put out a great book of small batch recipes also.

How did they turn out. I just did one and it was ok ish. 2.4 maybe. I think I know what I did wrong now though. I have tone of hops and I am going to mess with the next batch. Brooklyns website says modifying is a great way to experiment.

Now that I have a couple of these kits. Would it be a good idea to use the other fermenter as a secondary and dry hop? How would I go about that exactly? Which day do I transfer to secondary and anything else I should know would be greatly appreciated.
