Hey Y'all. I'm planning a Fri-Sun NYC visit in January. Looking to integrate as many brewery visits in Brooklyn and Queens as we can into other fun outings. Staying near Park Slope, but I'll have a car, as well as my beer loving wife, and brewery-tolerating 9 yo kid. How would you rank/rate these brewery taprooms in terms of ambiance/beer quality/selection/etc? Are their certain days of the week that these places release cans/bottles and if so how quickly do they sell out? Are there other breweries that should be on my list (I've been to Brooklyn Brewery enough, no need to return).

    LIC
    Transmitter
    Singlecut
    Finback
    Threes
    Other Half

Sorry if these questions have been asked before. I searched, but nothing too recent, and the scene is always changin'.

    Thanks!

Finback, SingleCut, Threes, and LIC all have great tap rooms, with Threes probably being the largest (and generally busiest) space. Finback/SC/LIC will usually have approximately 10 beers on tap, all brewed by them. Threes will have about 8 taps of their own, and then 6-8 guest taps of other great beers, along with some cans/bottles. All are fairly spacious and fun places to hang though, though my favorite would be LIC. All are kid friendly and have very, very good beers.

Other Half is a fairly small tap room, but the quality of beer is excellent, so it's worth a visit if you don't mind driving out of the way. Definitely not a great place to hang out though.

Transmitter you can skip, IMO. Very small space, they just do bottle pours of bottles that are mostly readily available in bottle shops around the city. Threes recently started selling bottles to go, my guess is they carry Transmitter, though I'm not sure.

I haven't been yet to the taproom, but I have heard great things about Interboro in Williamsburg, so that's likely worth a visit as well.

Other Half, Threes, Interboro, KCBC, LICBP, and SingleCut would be an ideal day.

Rockaway brewing has a pretty cool taproom (pinball for the kid) that is pretty close to LICBP.

Other Half will have an intense bottle/can release this Saturday starting at 10am. If you're not interested in standing in line for more than an hour I would suggest you swing by the brewery at any other time.

what time do you think you would need to show up to get in line?

I'm not coming until January (20-22).

From looking at their FB page, are all of the bottle/can release on Saturday at 10? Can you show up at a later time and still get some or is it always instant sellout?
