I swear, the great lakes region is the only place left in the country that has regular brown ale shelfies

Wish I could find it like I used too. It's not one of the three trendy styles so no spot on the shelf.

Would love to stumble upon Bell's Best Brown Ale on cask again sometime, that was a treat and a great exchange with the Fathead's bar back...agreed to disagree.

AFIK it's no longer in distro. It's available now at the General Store and on tap at the Eccentric Café, but I'm pretty sure that's as far as it gets anymore.

Awesome beer, awesome can art. I think they're one of the first Black-owned breweries in PA. I haven't had anything else yet but if their others beers are as good as this they're on the right path.

I miss Avery Ellie's Brown and New Holland Cabin Fever. Both still available but haven't seen in NJ in years.

My only options are Brooklyn Brown and Smuttynose Old Brown Dog........things could be a lot worse I suppose.

My recollection is that you homebrew, you could make your own 'favorite' Brown Ale.

I regularly homebrew my version of a Brown Ale that I 'brand' as Smoky & Spicy (Rye) Brown Ale. You can read all about it:

    Cheers!

That is correct. I would say that close to half of my brews are brown ales. I have a dark mild on deck (close enough.).

Will be be making this batch as a Real Ale (i.e., bottle conditioning)?

    Cheers!

New Hampshire makes some fine Brown Ales, this one is styled as an English Brown. Pig's Ear by Woodstock Inn Brewery of North Woodstock NH. Clear, lighter bodied than most, low hop flavor and bitterness, 4.3% ABV and still has a decent amount of malt character.

Now for those who want something bigger, try Double Pig's Ear, styled as an ABA, big, malty and 8.4% ABV. Cheers.

Been over a year since I saw it up here. We did get a drop of their porter at the local grocery outlet. According to the lady working there it was only because the barcodes were misprint and couldn't be scanned
