    I enjoyed this fine brown earlier today. It got better and better as it warmed and I'll certainly be starting the next one at cellar temp.

    It tastes like an import. I don't mean that flippantly. It's really the best way to give my impression. I haven't had a Newcastle since the first time I tried the (new at the time) Lagunitas version (which I liked). You wouldn't confuse those two beers. This recent Newcastle tastes of English yeast fermentation (even if it isn't used... but it was brewed at the John Smith's brewery in the UK), caramel, and a perceptible bitterness. I didn't get any lightstruck character even though this clear-bottle-sixer was spending a decent amount of time sitting on a shelf in a store that gets sunlight. It also goes down easy and isn't bogged down by any one thing.

    Maybe they used Tetra Iso-Extract hops to brew this beer (i.e., prevent lightstruck)?

    Was offered a blend of Lifeblood ( Stones 6.8% Brown) and Lifeblurred ( 11%Brown) and it's fuckin amazing!

    Lukcy Basardt didn't see distro either:grimacing:I didn't know this, but they left Stone Distribution, which was not part of the sale to Sapporo, two years ago. What i believe is that they don't wanna deal with Distribution companies at all and just keep it at the brewery and sometimes Available for Delivery .
    I hope they distro some cuz it is nice to find singles at Trader Joes when i go for "groceries " :grin:
