Brown Ales/Dark Ales

    If you’re a bit flexible about the whole “ale” side of it, I would recommend checking out some Schwarzbiers and other dark lagers. They might appeal to that maltiness you want but with a nice clean finish. Some imports are a pretty good price (Köstritzer 4pk 16oz for $6.49) but others may be a little pricier (Monschof ~16oz single bottle usually runs $3.99).

    Anderson Valley Boont Amber is surprisingly very good if you can find it.

    The Maduro is one of my favorite brown ales. If you get a chance you should try their Cubano Style Espresso Brown Ale, one of my favorite beers of any style right now...
