Enjoyed my first Brown Shugga this weekend - enjoyed it a lot but have a question. Reading the reviews afterwards, I see most comment about the head indicating two fingers at least, long-lasting, great lacing. I did not get as much of a head as typically reported in the reviews (proper pour into snifter type glass and I am ridiculous about clean, well-rinsed glassware). There was maybe a half a finger of head, but I do agree that it laced very well. Still tasted great so it hardly matters overall, but wondering about the difference I observed and what may account for it.
Sounds like it indeed poured a head and lacing, so why say "no head?" Pour harder. Ensure you use a clean/rinsed glass.
yea i agree. it is a little confusing when you say nothing to speak of then say you got a half a finger of head
Well, compared to two fingers, a max quarter inch is not so much? Maybe "less than typical head?" Probably just normal variation. I do pour hard and am scrupulous about my beer glasses - wife put them in the DW with that additive crap once - wasn't pretty....
Thank you - sorry about the inaccurate title for the thread. Was just wondering - noticed it scanning through the pictures in the what are you drinking daily...went "whoa - mine didn't look like that".
yea i mean it could be a number of things. did you only have one because you might get a better head next time
Ha - yes only had one because that is all there was left at the store! Last bottle in the last six pack sleeve in the cooler, but will get some more. Always up for better...well, ahem, anyway...
I pour almost all beers straight down the center anymore. Especially anything over 8% abv. This is the best way to ensure a "proper" head I have found.
The thread name had me thinking this discussion was about disappointing black, soft **** from the 70s.
