Never saw an email about Mash & Grind souring and a quick search through my archives didn't turn anything up. That's a bit troubling that tasting room employees are saying that - @mattolesh can you shed any light on this?

Shouldn't we be able to refund infected bottles?

I have to agree with you cracked one open last week and there was definitely a tart flavor. I bought 4 of these I hope this is an isolated bottle. I assume you mean 2014 by the way.

There was no Mash and Grind in 2014; those bottles came out in 2015. It was supposed to be Mash and Coconut per the 2014 beer list.

I would also appreciate an official Bruery opinion on this one. Does not sound like a bottle-to-bottle issue, but a full release issue (a la So Happens Its Tuesday).

I couldn't find an email, either. The employee I chatted with had said that he believed an email had went out about it, and I figured I just missed it somehow. He said going forward we should refrigerate any coffee beers just to be safe.

Bottom line is, he was definitely aware of M&G having issues, and I wasn't the first to bring it to their attention or ask about it.

Opened mine on Friday, sour but coffee was still strong. Almost as good as rare barrel all systems go

Just checked, bottle date is the same as above. Bottling time is 19:00 but obviously the same batch.

Yeah, sorry, it was December 2014, for some reason I confused with Mango Hottenroth.

I just checked my e-mail receipts from the Bruery; these Mash & Grinds were purchased as part of my February 2015 allocations.

    Reporting live! Bottle info:

    #183 10/27/2014
    15:12 002474

Taste: Better than I remember it last time on tap. Bourbon nicely smoothes the taste, gets stronger with warming. Subtle coffee (yeah, I like a lot of coffee in my stouts/bws), very well present in the aroma. My bottle had zero signs of infection. No sourness, green apple anything like that. Cheers!
