I'm ISO a trustee. Have a few preservation beers and this to be picked up. I'd ideally like for the trustee to be able to hold the bottles until I can fill a 12 bottle shipper to cut down on cost. Will pay for packaging + a thank you box.

Yeah, kind of bummed on no welcome sale like last year too. I was hoping to score some winification.

4 bottles of Chronology is kind of disappointing, but worse for the RS members only getting 2. Guess RS members can't open a bottle fresh if they want to be "fascinated" and taste it alongside the 12/18 Month versions. "This beer can be enjoyed next to the 12/18 Month versions, but we won't give you enough bottles to do so."

This is exactly what I came here to post after reading my allocations e-mail. Is this just poor planning on their part?

They also said they're taking a quarter of the barrels to blend, which implies they're planning on doing a 24 month version next year.

I can see the sentiment that the allocations are still pretty low for that beer and its intended purpose, but can't you still drink one fresh and then save the other until you complete the set?

If that becomes reality then damn, ISO another 6month Chronology series. =P

Yes you can. But it would be even more fun to do a comparison of the released to date at each release.

The email they sent out explicitly calls out a 24 month

Tasting room trips and the holidays have run me dry. My wallet is definitely fine with a small first month.

The Chronology beers are going to be an easy pass for me. I don't need 4 more huge malty bourbon barrel aged beers from The Bruery, especially where the only variable is length of time in barrel. The experiment is just not appealing to me for that type of beer.

Just curious what are you guys expecting from those beers? Big differences or just smoother with more oak and booze as they age?

I get the concerns around a low allocation, but there is always the possibility of a re-release as they have done in the past. They just want to make sure everyone has a fair chance at the bottles. It's been a while, but they have given Hoarders the first crack, then RS. Also, I would bet that they kegged quite a bit of the earlier versions in order to allow side-by-side tasting in the taproom as each release hits.

Really? Four bottles for RS when last year it was Hoarders only isnt good enough for you?

Didnt take long for this new thread to reach its entitlement quota.

Just saw the email and I am very excited for a number of reasons.

    1) Mocha Wed limit is reasonable. With the included 3, my HS allotment is 7 which plenty for me to drink, share and trade without baiting me into buying a case (would if I had the chance) that would mean bottles sit longer than they should. At first I was bummed this HS only beer made it out to RS so quickly but hopefully more reviews will drive up the going rate for a bottle because the trade outlook is comical for west coast items at the moment but that is another thread entirely. I'd be happy to see more year old HS beers hit RS with 1 bottle limits (as opposed to zero, put down the pitchforks) while keeping the HS at 4-6.

2)Release of Chron6 should make predicting 12 and 18 fairly straightforward.

    3) With only 2 releases, the wallet is spared a bit after Xmas. More importantly it gives me time to work on the member included bottles. Last year dumped high limits of CR, MW and others all at the same time with a hefty opening package which made for a nasty Jan tab and more strong stouts than one 'should' handle in a few weeks (obviously cellering many, but even 1 per week is a lot)

4)Lastly I read an article with Patrick talking about their plans for 2015 and specifically Terreux program which said they expect to have a 'new family of sours' by April. I don't expect to see much on the sour front for a little while but maybe they will send out a Terreux email seperatly... we'll have to wait and see. No matter how you dice it, they are likely going to have some downtime in sour production moving from site A to site B. If this means that the down time is the colder winter months but back up and firing for the spring/summer months I am all for it.

    Happy start to the year

I laugh at every post with the word entitlement in it, its a word this board loves to throw around at anyone who has any sort of emotions towards anything.

Did I post a 5 paragraph rant destroying the bruery and how they owe me more? no, I didnt. So please, head back under your bridge

Anybody here have experience with getting their stuff shipped? Just wondering if I can have my complimentary Society growler shipped straight out to me in NY or if it has to be bundled in with my beer shipment. And if the latter, how does that work? Does it take up the space of a bottle or something like that?

Maybe if your post hadnt been the same whine about low allocations that accompanies just about every release these days, maybe there could be more constructive discussion about your "emotions." The extra 5 paragraphs that you didnt need to include became redundant as soon as you expressed your "disappointment."

The money you put up front is basically returned to you over the course of the year in included bottles and discount on allocations, yet people feel that it gives them a right to demand from the bruery how much of which bottles they personally feel that they should be able to purchase. I apologize if you are taking the brunt of my criticism on account of a rather benign comment, but yours was simply the first of what will surely be a litany of such posts in this thread, just as they soured last year's.

I can't complain much. 7 bottles of Mocha Weds is plenty. Four bottles of chronology is fine for me but to not be able to put together a full 'vertical' as RS does kind of suck but now we know what one of the June and December beers will be.

They now have a flex shipping option for included merch so they can send it to us out of staters.
