Had it Society Member Monday. It was... interesting. I really like star anise so I figured I'd like it, but it was a strange combo, I honestly don't think I could have more than a taster.

It is very different. Lots of black licorice on the nose. The sour tartness was mellowed out quite a bit. Like @ivegot3Dvision said, it's interesting. Not in a bad way. Just...interesting.

These beers taste completely different. M9 IMHO is a WAY better beer but as previously stated M11 is, interesting. I think we all keep using that word because on paper, the flavors in that beer shouldn't really work, but they do. Even though they work though, it is not something most people could drink a bottle of.

If you're a HS member, you already get 2 bottles included too.

M9 seems to have more Sour blonde base plus it has Coconut and Ginger. M11 is completely different. I absolutely hated it. Maybe the flavor profile doesn't work for me but I just thought it was a mess.

I had forgotten two of those were included. Based on early reviews I don't think I would have actually bought any, but looks like I will be trying it after all (hopefully with a big group to share).

Crap. I forgot 2 bottles were included. Guess that makes the decision about buying one to try or not easy.

Do the hard copy society invites get sent to the address listed under shipping or billing? Still haven't received mine out here in NJ, wonder if I should tell my trustee to keep an eye out.

Billing I think (both of mine are the same). I haven't been home to check my mailbox, but I hadn't yet received mine either.

Mine hasn't come yet either and I am only 400 miles away from the Bruery, so I wouldn't worry too much yet if you're on the East Coast

Has anyone had Melange 11. I've heard a lot of negative things about it from a lot of people who haven't had it.

Picking mine up today, but I am part of the blend team so my review could be biased. I am most curious to see how close they stuck to our entry (we used a ton of dates)

Yup, it is...interesting. The flavors do work, and I honestly think thats why it won because it sounds like they shouldn't. That being said, I couldn't even drink a full glass of it, much less a bottle. A taster was the perfect size for me.

Plus we get two bottles included so IMO, no need to buy anymore unless you want to use them for trades.

M9 was WAY WAY WAY WAY better.

Fuck, I'm another who forgot 11 is included. But at least I only bought 2. But still, 2+2 = ∞ in this case.

    FT: M11 ISO: Tecate.

Didn't the notes on the allocation emails used to remind us when a bottle was included?
