Stoutfire and M10 bottles on the tasting room as of 5:45. Not on display, ask at the register.

Btw, there was a silent auction at the anniversary bash. The answer to "how much do you gotta spend to get a Hoarders invite" is at least $2K this one time. That's the bid I saw was winning towards the end of the party.

I'm curious how much that metal sign went for, it was pretty rad.

Yes, the bourbon version was the version that went into distro.

So was the auction just straight up for inclusion into the Hoarders membership? Could anyone bid on it? Cause $2k would actually be cheaper than what it cost me to get in to the membership, and I'd have a lot fewer 15%+ abv 750ml bottles clogging up my cellar now...

Pretty sure it was a guaranteed invite to 2017 hoarder's society, not inclusion. Bidding was open to anyone who could flip over the clipboard and scrawl their name, email, and a bid on a piece of paper.

Papier is still up, which is extremely surprising.

Late to post this but I thought the anniversary party was great. The beers being poured were fantastic for the most part. The Bruery really brought some interesting and delicious one-offs, which was great. I also got to meet and hang out with my Bruery trustee and meet the man, the myth and the legend that may perhaps be banned from this thread at the moment. My Hoarder friend got me pours of the double-barrel BT which was incredible, as was Melange 9. The weather was also great. I'm already looking forward to next year.

We really should have an official BA meetup near the tail end of this thing (I'm sure everyone wants to run around and drink whatever beers they're interested in at the beginning). I would have liked to have met a few more of you guys.

25% BA Papier? If so, that shouldn't be surprising at all, bottles from their first year or so are a game of oxidation roulette. I know a lot of newer members fetishize their early beers, but even employees from the early days have admitted that their bottling line was shit and that a lot of early bottling runs aren't holding up at all.

100% BA Papier has held up somewhat better, but it's still a game of chance.

That's correct. There were some archive beers available only to Hoarders. Hope you snagged one of those!

Yeah, the one bottle of Papier I had was oxidized as hell. I was merely saying that because of how much people want it.

I've been trying to find a 100% Papier since forever.

Gotcha. It seems like that and PiaPT have both dropped in demand as people realize they aren't going to taste good, although I don't trade so my perception may be off base.

They were excellent beers but what you'd have to give up to get one at this point wouldn't even be close to worth it. The bottle counts were low to begin with and with seven years of people drinking them, they'd have to be getting into the range of less than 50 bottles in existence for each variant.

Although that BA 2 Turtle Doves was tasting pretty damn good at the anniversary party.

Aside from BT '09, that's probably the oldest Bruery beer I've had that I'd say was holding up well. I've had a couple bottles of it that were somewhat oxidized, but it has been better in aggregate than any of the stuff that preceded it. Makes sense, as they were ~2.5 years old at that point and had worked out many of their bottling issues.

Rye was the more commonly distributed version. For a bit and AFAIK, bourbon was RS only.

Rye was the bigger distro, but Bourbon made it out too. We got Rye in GA for three years, Bourbon one year. The ABV varied a bit through the years as well.
