No. You can try to find a new trustee and have them ship them to you. You can change your trustee at any time

American barleywine has been a style a lot longer than Imperial IPA. Maybe we should call Imperial IPA's barleywine! :stuck_out_tongue:

FWIW, Hair of the Dog here in Portland made an Ardbeg barrel-aged version of Adam called Single Malt Adam.

It had so much peat that it was nearly undrinkable. My wife, who loves peaty scotch, had trouble finishing a 4-ounce taster. We blended it 50-50 with regular Adam and still could barely finish a taster sample.

Moral of the story is either "Be careful what you wish for" or "A little scotch barrel-aging goes a long, long way."

where in the hell did this whole corn syrup thing come from?

that just seems way improbable instead of "a lot of corn"

I liked that eclipse, but I'm more inclined toward peaty flavors than most of my friends.

Brewdog did several versions of their Paradox a few years ago in various Scotch barrels, and they all were incredible. Im a big fan of smoky, peaty Scotch though, other people (a lot) hate it.

Once again, has anyone had the Scotch Poterie? I like a good peaty scotch, but in beer I don't like it too smokey.

I'm debating on buying more than the 2 I was allocated and want an honest opinion.

Its a bourbon barrel aged "cornwine", although we are not allowed to call it that on the label (TTB rules). No corn syrup nor corn sugar in it, just flaked yellow corn (30% of the malt bill by extract).

There are no American hops in it, nor any late addition hops (i.e. not a hoppy American style barleywine)

I am NOT a fan of peat or overly smoky beers.

That being said, I really enjoyed it.

I thought it was well balanced between touch of smoke/peat with the goodness of Bois.(Complex caramel, toffee...almost a touch of burnt toffee)

I thought it was one of the best anniv versions since Bois.

    Hope that helps others decide.

Just drank my Humulus TrIPLe. I thought it was fantastic. It's super hoppy. I was very surpised to see that coming out of the Bruery. If I lived locally I'd probably pick a few more of these up.

^ I felt the opposite actually, when I had it on tap. maybe bottles are better? Was pretty disappointed. Nowhere near the same hop aroma or flavor as the regular Humulus Lager in my opinion.
