I never had the regular Humulus Lager, so I can't compare. Maybe it was even better. But the TrIPLe bottle I had was supper hoppy (and pretty bitter) with a very light backbone. I really enjoyed it as did all the hop heads I shared it with (the one guy into Belgians thought it was too bitter).

Finishing first bottle of Choc Salty BBLS. Not bad. Reminds me of the base beer for Freckle with different adjuncts (but I'm going by memory from awhile back).

It is. Humulus Lager kicks the shit out of any other "not-IPA" the Bruery has attempted over the years and Humulus Palm is a close second.

    Freckle = 10.8% ABV
Chocolate Salty BBLs = 16.4% ABV

Did they really taste that similar...?

Personally, I liked Old Richland Oaked better as far as hop forward beers from The Bruery go.

But I agree Humulus Triple is a very good IPL.

I find Chocolate Salty BBLs more like a Chocolate Rain lite.

and Freckle more like Mole Smoking Wood( which I liked better).

I like chocolate salty bbls better than chocolate rain and triple better than reg humulus lager. Funny how taste differ.

Yes, actually, or I wouldn't have posted it. Freckle was a while ago, but as I recall it there is a similarity. Chocolate Rain Lite is a good descriptor of SCBBLS, but it doesn't have the BT base to it, at least to my taste (unlike SHIT).

I didn't find any similarity at all, Freckle had nice mouthfeel, balanced with a tiny bit of spice to it.

Chocolate Salty Balls was a thin hot mess to me with a little chocolate flavor, nothing like Freckle, BT, CR, or SHIT.

I think that he picked it up with his initial allocations.

Interesting, initial allocation being chronology 6, Les Ronces and 2 Mocha Wednesday right? All of those beers say pick up availability starts tomorrow when I log in to my account.

Yes. If you order them. The last week has been dedicated to just picking up the welcome allocations.

Having had both (I was sent a growler of the Lager) they both tasted rather similar (In my memory ~ maybe a week or so apart of each other) both delicious!

Agreed on Chocolate Rain Lite....I didn't really understand the "salt" aspect of it....

When I look at the RS calendar, it says that there is a new allocation every month. Is this correct? Do new beers pop up for RS/HS every month?

Okay, had both Scotch Poterie and the new Chrono:6 this weekend. Liked both, but neither blew me away and probably enjoyed Chrono:6 just a bit more. I am looking forward to Chrono:12 this year much more than I was last year, when I was kinda "meh".

The Scotch Poterie was a little thinner than I am used to with the Anniversary series and I wish there had been more peaty/smokey Scotch flavor. It was there but very subtle. For those who prefer nuance and subtlety, I think they will really enjoy it. For those who want to be hit over the head with barrel and mouthfeel (like me) they may find it good but not great.

For comparison, I generally love the Anniversary series, and my favorites over the year have been the Port, Madeira, and Brandy versions.

If you have emails set up, you'll receive an email detailing each month's allocations on the day and at the time they become available, which is usually the first Monday of each month.

    Awesome, thanks guys!

Will there be a list released with all of the beers coming up this year?
