TBH, I never even went to the dining car to even see what they have. And yeah, the employees walking through seem to not really care all that much so long as you are not causing a fuss nor appear overly intoxicated. We had 2 individuals that were escorted off the train in Oceanside by the Oceanside PD while coming home last year. That was fun, until I realized that we were still 30minutes out and my bladder was well over full. Hehehe, one of those 2 arms up in victory pees once I found the restroom at the station.

    Just one? =P

Just noticed in the last email from Friday the 14th, "On the horizon" for Terreux is Tart of Darkness with raspberry and cocoa. Interesting.

Decided to go over last year's twitter posts. Looks like they made announcements every couple of days starting one to two weeks before the date. Guess I'll keep an eye out next week. :/

Enough to where I'm sad I can't buy any because being a student is expensive.

So I guess I missed this whole Offshoot Beer thing? Was that real? I kinda thought it was a April Fools joke since the email came out April 1?

I can't get on board with this one week allocation window... I just don't check stuff that regularly... this is the 3rd month that I have purchased 0 Bruery beers... Didn't even buy Chocolate Rain... oh well.. I guess I already know what I'm doing with this Reserve Membership next year.. LOL

How do you not see the emails sent to you from the Bruery? It is 2017 and there is 162% of certainty that you get their emails and have social media. Absent logging onto their website to see your allocations, you regularly get an email from the Bruery discussing all of this.

I mean... why u are not online is not my business, but it seems insane that u don't have the time to read their emails that come in, especially when you are paying $300 to receive those emails.

Nobody said I didn't see them. In fact my post actually mentions I DID see them. However there hasn't really been much exciting from this years membership that I felt like I HAD to have.. and with a one week/secondary week window... when I actually get around to thinking.. hmm.. I might like to try that. I have usually missed it.

Totally my own fault, but I'd be curious if the 1 week window is working well for them, or if it is actually having the reverse affect?

In reality, the length of allocation periods haven't really changed in 2017 vs. prior years. This month, for instance, allocations for Griffon Brux, for instance, will have run from 4/3 - 4/19 (not 4/3 - 4/9 as advertised).

I imagine the changed allocation periods is having a beneficial impact from a sales perspective. Essentially, they do the one week initial sale. People can buy what they want and request additional bottles via the wish list feature. In every instance so far this year, allocations have then popped up with equal or higher limits the following week for another 1-2 week period. So, worst case, you essentially have ~3 weeks to buy allocations same as before. But better, if there's a beer you really love, you max in week 1, they can assess inventory in real time and re-release same month and you can buy even more bottles. This, rather than waiting for a second chance sale down the line that may never come, or may not come for a very long time. I was skeptical, but now 4 months in, the new system is way better in my eyes.

Agreed. It's fine to say the membership isn't valuable enough for you to renew next year, even though it's only April. To use the 3-week (1-week) allocation window as the reason just makes you seem lazy

My only gripe originally was not having enough money to max out in the first week, but there's been second chance sales every month so save for a few beers, I've gotten enough of everything. RDF and M&FT come to mind as there not being enough, but otherwise I've had options to buy nearly two cases total of everything else, and more on some beers. It's been a damn pricey year already but the new stuff has been excellent and my awesomely quick trustee gets me drinking them faster.

A third of the way into the year and my RS experience has been fantastic. I have about a dozen bottles awaiting pickup, but I've received two boxes thus far. Aside from huge quantities of two of my favorites from the Bruery(MW and CR), I've loved RdF, Befuddlement, and been pleasantly surprised by Pommereux(hope it shows up for purchase again soon). In speaking to other members I know and reading through this thread, its pretty apparent that this year's allocations have been huge compared to others, which is just fantastic. I've been able to take care of a lot of friends with the generous allotments offered. Best society out there I think.

Agreed. Plus access to the parties. No more going on Instagram and seeing OTHER people have fun, for this guy.
