Buy your bottles online and e-mail them tomorrow that you want to pick up that order on Monday? It's that easy.

Lame? It's not difficult to shoot a 15 second email in advance. That's just being lazy. Come on man.

Im sure there might be other clubs don't require an advance notice. One advantage with the bruery is I don't have to pickup up within a certain amount of time. Would love if modern times extends their window for members. 6 months would be great!

Picking up from the bruery is a breeze compared to GBC. I'm assuming black rider isn't a member, lol.

Ahhh... longing for the days when you hoped you didn’t get another RS sweatshirt as your included merch.

Go pick up your bottles. I have never sent an email and the worst I have gotten was atitude.

this has already been debated to death, but, I disagree. they should be able to accommodate walk ins, like they used to. not everyone is able to plan everything 24 hours in advance

lazy to me is when 3 employees are sitting behind a counter on the internet and one of them can't get up and grab 12 bottles and put them in a box

I agree, you are beating a dead horse. Remember, you brought up the issue again.

It’s been debated to death but I think you missed the main point of many of their bottles being stored off site. Logistically it wouldn’t make sense to send an employee to an offsite warehouse each time someone wanted to walk in to pick up bottles same day. Asking about their processes might be a good place to start rather than assuming they are lazy.

You're correct. We often have the bigger inventory items on site. But more limited releases and items purchased from an archive sale might not be on site. We're able to make sure we have everything set for you with a little advance notice. If dropping an email is somewhat out of pattern, you can use Facebook Messenger or Twitter (DM) to request a pick up as well. We just need the name and email address to line it up.

No, I think you missed the main point.. member benefits have been decreased, not increased. Rather than being a Bruery apologist / fanboy maybe you could examine ideas about how they could restore member benefits that were important to many of us

How about they figure out a way? Maybe one of the 3 fulfillment employees could shuttle back and forth. Or members could pick up there as well? Have one (of the 3) work at that location?

I get needing some time to sort out but 24 hours is a bit clunky

    Optional. Short. Worth it.
We hope you're enjoying 2017 as a Society member. To help us improve our service and your overall Society experience, we'd like to ask you to take a few minutes to answer some questions. It's an optional survey and relatively brief.

    We'd really appreciate your insight!

Man, I'd love if I get a free pour for doing a survey, lol.

I totally agree, I like to give 24 hours but sometimes I don't know and 24 hours isn't an option. Also, if it is off-site, I kind of get it, but if it is all there, then why can't they fullfill it? If I was picking up 6 cases and a case is of rare one offs, I get giving them 24 hours, but if I am picking up 4 bottles that were all released within the last 4 months I should be able to walk in, let them know and then come back in an hour..

Did you ever do pickups at the tasting room or provisions back in the day? I did and I will tell you having a dedicated fulfillment center will always be a huge benefit in and of itself.

I definitely remember this. One person doing everything, man that line used to get huge.

    That escalated quickly...

I’ll gladly discuss ways to make benefits more valuable, but I won’t speak negatively on employees that had no decision on operating procedures.

That being said, I think something fair for both sides would be to allow same day pickups for bottles released within a 4-6 week window for monthly releases. I don’t know what would be viable with how their inventory is managed, but it’s an idea I’ll throw out there.

I think shuttling beer/employees back and forth between other locations several times a day would be cost prohibitive.

I did, I'm just joking around, it's just been a long while since I've picked up.

Anyway, they answered one question I didn't ask, and that is if you don't pick up within a week some of your bottles might not be at the fulfillment office.

I had almost completely forgotten that "regular" Black Tuesday isn't an included beer. While I'm looking forward to those BT Port bottles I still loves me some good old fashioned BT. Fortunately got in under the allocation window "wire" and ordered a few bottles.

It will be interesting to see how quickly BT sells out to the masses once it opens up (if it sells out).

When I went to purchase my bottles, I was somewhat surprised to see that Reserve Society memberships are still available...

I bet it sits for awhile, doesn't have the hype it once did, and there is a ton of it.

cool. yeah, i know it doesn't seem to bother some people but for myself (and some others) it is actually a pain in the ass. i know some people in here live their lives in a very rigid, structured way (some people on here have mentioned using Excel spreadsheets, voluntarily, to keep track of their beer drinking / buying).

for me, due to my schedule, i don't always know when i'll be free the next day. as a result, because of this new policy, i have hardly gotten any of my beer there this year, even though i've been in the OC multiple times. I'll find myself down there on a Saturday, but 24 hours prior i didn't know I was going to be passing through. now i'm AT the Bruery, but can't get my beer.

as for employees sitting around. i'm not blaming them personally. i blame management. it just adds to the frustration factor for me when i'm told that i can't get my beer because i didn't give 24 hours notice, but see multiple staff members literally sitting down doing nothing. doesn't seem like the best strategy from a staffing standpoint.

it's funny to me how everyone is so quick to defend the Bruery on this. "it's not that hard" etc.. this new policy makes it more difficult to get a product you purchased, than it was before. so if next year they decide to rent storage space in the desert, and require 3 days notice, will everyone say the same thing? "what's the big deal? it's not that hard"

i'm sorry but i'll always think this is dumb. and politely disagree with those of you who are in favor it

for those who say i'm beating a dead horse, i don't care.

let's go back to talking about bottle openers then
