The RS bottle opener had me sketched out from day 1, but its held up so far. The nail hardly pierces through the other side of the wood, there is a small bit of glue there, but holding up well so far. My RS glass, I knocked it off my closet drawer and it fell about 12 inches straight down onto my wooden dresser, and it did not break or crack. Short fall but it landed straight on the side, right by the logo, FWIW

Yes, the RS opener is not the best opener Ive ever used. Takes multiple tries. I read on here someone said it tears through the aluminum foil wrap no problem, well not for me. I had to peel the wrapper off first.

Sounds like the pin is the only piece of high quality merchandise!

Just because people are being brutes and manhandling the glasses doesn't make them low quality. They're quite nice, though I can see how you might break one after crushing a Weekday bottle.

Maybe next year they can just give out high quality sippy cups.

Eh, you can head over to the Rare Barrel forums from a couple years past to see how well ceramic goes over. Bunch of klutzy drinkers on these forums.

Except we aren't. I was being extremely careful to clean the lip and it still broke.

I'm not disputing the quality of it. I know it's nice crystal and thus fragile. That doesn't change the fact that it stinks when it breaks when you were being extremely gentle with it.

At the end of the day, I want to use the glass and the bruery wants me to use the glass. I've bought the washer that Patrick suggested so hopefully that will fix any future issues I may run into.

Hey, I noticed that one end of my pin is really sharp, and seems like a serious safety risk. I nearly poked myself with it when putting it on my shirt. Looks like a design flaw to me.

I opened up a befuddlement with the rs opener and it squeezed so hard around the cap that it broke off a good sized piece of the lip of the bottle. I didnt know what to do so i dumped the bottle. Figured the bruery will make it right.

    Interesting news from FW:

    http://www.firestonebeer.com/press-room/index.php?id=75

    Those tiny boxes look... cute.

I know folks have wished in the past that Bruery would do smaller formats, but given the price jump for FW (and assuming Bruery would have to do the same) I'm not sure I'd be for it (in this imaginary world where I get a vote).

I can usually get FW non-Anniversary for $15. Buying two in the new format will be $20. You're getting two extra ounces of beer, and the flexibility of drinking a smaller quantity at a time does have some value, but you're still looking at a 22% price increase. That's like a 12oz Black Tuesday priced at $17.29 before member discount. Oof.

You aren't exactly comparing apples to apples. Firestones beers at firestone cost $16.99 in the past and now they are $9.99. So it is really only about an 8% increase on a per once basis. So wherever you got them for $15 will probably still be cheaper, and please tell me where they are $15. Even total wine was like $15.49 and bevmo was like $15.99, and those are the cheapest place I know, and they normally have limits of 1 or 2.
Having said that, I would gladly pay about 10% more for a smaller format of Black Tuesday, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

It's only a discount if you're going to drink the entire thing. If you only want to drink 12oz, then yes, you're paying more per ounce, but it's cheaper than buying a 25oz bottle and not drinking half.

And yes, I do end up pouring out more Bruery beer than I'd like these days. Bottles that don't make it through a tasting, that I don't get through over a couple of days, etc.

It's possible I'm remembering $14.99 from 2015 pricing. Maybe I paid $15.99 for 2016 vintages. I'm in San Francisco and usually get my FW vintages at Bevmo, Whole Foods, or Molly Stone - but to be honest it's always different. One year one of them will get a bunch and the next round it will be someone else. Production levels for 2015 and 2016 were so much higher I didn't have any trouble buying a lot overall while still respecting posted bottle limits.

Just opened three straight bottles of melange 15 and all smelled awful and tasted terrible. A shame. I had one bottle right at release that was delicious and was looking forward to savoring those bottles for awhile. I hope they try that blend again because it was really good.

So I'm curious, is the bruery not pasteurizing everything now? I honestly don't remember if the statement was that some beers were or if all beers were.

Had to do that last night with 9 Ladies Dancing. Just wasn't worth the calories. The description sounded fantastic, execution not so much.
