Got the email and downloaded the app too. Looks like there's separate rewards for Bruery and Terreux. Maybe that means we can get 50% off a growler at both locations?

The app will provide electronic Society level identification. You'll also be able to use it to checkin at events, such as Society Member Mondays (and be qualified for awards there). The app also provides punch card functionality for growler fills, special deals and notification capabilities.

Rewards are linked - 10 punches total will unlock the discount.

We'll also be able to use this to send renewal incentives that members achieved (refer a friend, signup by September 30).

This whole time i was thinking The Bruery was going to make their own app which would be an all in one type thing for The Bruery and your membership to place orders and etc.

We'd like to down the road. This introduces some features and functionality until such a time.

So is Bruery manually linking the signups to their associated accounts? Since there really is nothing, and I used a throw-away email account, that links us I am curious if you will all just be going through name by name and changing permissions.

You got it! We'll be emailing members who qualified for the referral and renewal incentives with details on how to claim once more members are linked up. Additionally, info about our 2018 Society Member Monday program will be coming this month (in advance of the first one in February).

We're cross referencing signups to be sure members get mapped to the right level.

So to get our "rewards" we have to download an app? Meh.

I don't see how going through a third party app will help my Bruery experience. Is there an option for those who don't like downloading more apps to get beer? This to me is like a "coupon app". I'm supposed to get tracked at the POS for my visits, right?

Does the QR code at the tasting rooms change every day? I have to imagine someone's thought of all the ways that scanning a QR code to verify your location can be exploited, but maybe not...

That sounds very cool but realistically speaking, balance this equation:
Cost of developing+testing an app quickly ~vs~ marginal revenue increase (if any) from improved convenience

That's a cool long term goal (that it sounds like tone day it will be there) but I wouldn't really like to pay $50 or even more extra so they can work on (throw money at :sunglasses:) an app that eventually marginally improves convenience for something that is far from "broken." Just IMO.

Just picked up my HS initial package. Love the glassware (one of the non-Teku Teku-type stemwares this year), and the WS opener is pretty chill. I thought the initial reserve bottles were exciting last year, but wow for these bottles! Super stoked for all three (and the bonus bottles are a nice touch).

My one, very minor, complaint would be the lack of a passport-type thing this year. I know that the app is supposed to replace all of that, but it would be nice to be able to see all of the info in one place like last year. *shrug*

Regarding the app: when you launch it and then click on Bruery/Terreux location you then need to scroll up before the check-in button appears (at least in the Android version). Not at all intuitive and didn't notice this till after I left.

Drinking my last 2015 White Chocolate. It's damn good. I know the recipe changed in 2017, but compared to 2016 I can't tell if the aging has improved it or if it's just that much better to begin with.

Tons of chocolate, luxurious body, nice bourbon flavor that doesn't overwhelm, nice gentle boozy warmth that's not hot at all.

I bought a Bruery DC RS membership as a gift for a family member this year... what a disorganized clustereff. Bruery is all over the place with this shit. Making me look bad or at least weird with this gift lol

Relax, they call it a soft opening for a reason. They're working out the kinks now and the official grand opening isn't for another couple weeks. Initial packages are available starting tomorrow but you're already complaining today?

If we've learned anything, the Bruery will do everything they can to make things right and respond to input and critique from Society members.

I'm perfectly relaxed, but you have to be an apologist to overlook all the confusion and disorganization.

I wasn't going to go into detail about numerous things as it's not my membership, just noting it's fairly chaotic and random.
