Agreed, but them's the breaks. I think the prices are pretty much in line with NYC draftlines of Bruery beers. There's the occasional $1-2 up charge for being in midtown, but by and large I'm not surprised.

Truth be told - their keg prices for bars aren't cheap from SKI.

I'm not talking about the prices at all. I'm talking about 1) blowing through kegs at an unnecessarily fast pace, and 2) that it's a fact that no one needs 13oz of 15%+ ABV beer.

Ahhhh....gotcha. Yes, 13oz of 15%+ beer is freaking insane. Judging by the clientele that usually hits up Ginger Man though, I think the ABVs will scare a good chunk of people away.

I'm going to try and stop by during lunch and report back. Maybe they won't pour certain beers until tonight?

I don't know, I think the wine/cheese pairing with Patrick Rue doesn't begin until 7pm, so those are definitely not being poured right away. I was supposed to be going but now can't, so I'm curious to hear back on your thoughts of the day.

Soooo a 13oz pour of Chocolate Rain in NY costs $12, but a 25oz bottle of Chocolate Rain on release from the brewery is $40?

    Something doesn't add up...

Not thread stealin' here but I'm hosting a bit of a more relaxed Bruery event (with considerably shorter taplist) at The Guilty Goose in Chelsea on Tuesday night.

    https://www.facebook.com/events/561489670624468/

We're doing $5 pours in the evening of Atomic Kangarue, Rueuze, Floyd D'Rue, Mash, Sour in the Rye and others. Patrick Rue will be in attendance but I expect this event to be a lot more chill than the Ginger Man event this evening.

Also gonna do a little bottle share with some Bruery goodies from the Goose cellar (I'm busting out a Grey Monday, Bois Fume and a couple others, already confirmed more people bringing a bottle or two for share). PM me with any questions.

Very lax. The front bar is full and the tables are occupied. Plenty of standing room everywhere, however.

Hmm when I went to go pick up tickets for the Cheese thing a few weeks ago, they said many things would be on when they opened, but that they would save some of the high-end stuff for "around happy hour".

    We shall see

I gotta be at work early tomorrow, but fuck it. I think I'm gonna jump on the train to be there at like 6:30. Probably gonna be wearing a Tired Hands shirt if anyone wants to say hello.

All of the beers are on and have been on for a few hours. They're still serving flights and as of now, everything is still available. The bar is about 3 deep with all tables taken. The entire back room is reserved for the cheese pairing.

And Bottleworks XII is still phenomenal.
