Yup. Extremely annoying. I might be home that weekend but there's no way I can do that; my family and friends would be pissed.

WTF were they thinking? When I got the email I thought awesome, then I looked at the date and had to do a double take. I don't see many people choosing to spend the afternoon at the Bruery on the 4th, but could wrong.

For what it's worth, I tried to spend the afternoon last 4th of July at the Bruery, but there was a line around the building. I got tired of waiting and left. That was the grand opening for their new tasting room, though.

I could see stopping in for a beer or two, but to buy a ticket to spend the entire afternoon may be a bit different. Would love to do it, just too much other stuff going on the 4th to dedicate the afternoon.

And on a Thursday. Won't be making this one.

I was really excited for this until I saw the date. At least the announcement was in advance this time, I guess that part is improving. Now to work on selecting better dates.

I like that it is on the fourth before a long weekend to give out of towners a chance to make it.

The logistics of the event, food, luau theme, beers, .... all sound very good, except for one thing, the date as stated above. I'm like others in that my family coming over would be extremely pissed if I ditched them.

Nothing says 'Murica and Independence like overweight people who cannot attend a celebration of their hoarding!

Yeah, as a father this makes it essentially impossible. Wife, while into beers and tolerant of my excessive interest, will not be down for a 4th of July spent in the throes of intense beer geekery. Even if Boneyard Bistro is providing the Q.

Did they post a lineup of any of the beers they're going to have?

Ha, agreed. If I lived even remotely local, I'd be all over this. The 4th is just another great excuse for a long weekend to do with what you will (I'll go ahead and celebrate Not Being a Brit the other 364 days of the year - no offense UK people, water under the bridge and all that).

Well, considering it's on a Thursday, I mean, you simply have to stumble home in time to make sure the kids don't blow their fingers off with fireworks once the sun goes down.

It is a holiday catered around drinking, after all.
