Anyone have any idea how this beer ages? I recently picked up a 2011 and this year's vintage. Should I drink either, both, or sit on them a little longer?
There was a horrible batch sometime at the beginning of 2012- totally flat and gross. Since then though it's been kick ass.
Uh oh I think I got mine in spring of 2012. Doing a sour tasting of Oude Tart, Tart of Darkness, and Sour in the Rye in a few weeks so I'll know then
Had a summer 2012 bottle just recently and was fantastic. Have had several Tart of Darkness and loved them all, different style but really enjoyable. Sour in the Rye is always amazing. Had SitR with peaches through a randall of peaches....beergasm.
Neve had this beer, but picked one up last week while in Florida. Curious to see how it compares to Love Child #3 and La Folie.
The beer comes out yearly in the fall, the early 2012 would be a 2011. All of the ones I have opened have been flat. The case said Blend #28 I think if that means anything. The 2012 Oude Tart was much better.
So, you can only be a member if you live in California? I'm just curious because it would be awesome to be able to get their stuff here in TX.
You got beers shipped to you directly from The Bruery? Doubtful. They distribute beers to many states, but beers on their website, and Reserve Society beers, can only be shipped to people in California. Many people are RS members from other states, but they have people in state pick up their beers and then ship them to them.
Mine must be the 2012 batch as it has the tag around the neck stating 2012 Gold Medal Winner. I must have bought this more towards summer. Does it sound like this should be a better batch?
That is an excellent batch. BTW - Drinking a Filmishmish right now at it's amazing as well. The Bruery is really stepping up the sours.
