Bruery RS/HS Allocations (2019)

So your "guest" that gets to use your discount at the tasting rooms now has to have a physical membership card and you only get that by picking it up at the Fulfillment Center? Hoping they have a mail option for the card since I'm not likely to be picking up in person any time soon.

 

Kinda figured that, just wasn’t sure

 

So if I went to every Society Member Monday and didn’t get an email about the beer / cheese pairing, is it time to contact them to ask what’s going on?

 

Anyone hit the threshold to the archive beers?

 

Yea I’d hit them up for sure. I’m sure they are gonna be busy since it’s the first of the year so sooner the better

 

Looks like there is a January SMM on January 21st this year. Probably an extension of the "Society Welcome Weekend" on the 19th.

The Bruery events calendar does have the first Monday of every month blocked at Terreux for SMM, starting with February through December. I would expect some of those dates to drop as they usually have around 9 SMMs each year.

The big question is whether I can delete that Flok app.

 

Had a 2018 Hoarder Cuvee last night. It is super delicious. The base beer blend on its own was exceptional. I got mostly cinnamon, maybe some cacao, but had trouble identifying the other ingredients... Though maybe that's a testament to how well they integrated!

But... As good as it was... That $23 price point for 375ml is still a deal breaker for me. I think at $17 I'd grab a couple more, and at $15 I'd grab a lot more (pre-discount pricing).

 

Do I smell a trickle down to RS?

 

Nope, probably not. It literally has "Hoarder's" in the name lol.

 

In mid-2017 RS was offered a chance to buy a couple 16 Cuvees. I think some feathers may have been ruffled

At the start of last year as a new HS I recall them doing a special HS sale letting you buy a lot of the stuff you couldn't buy as RS the year before. They've also constantly said that exclusivity only lasts a calendar year or so.

 

I know this thread can quickly turn into an airing of grievances so I'd just like to let everyone know that after a couple of e-mails, Marissa and I were able to get things sorted out and I'll be at the beer/cheese pairing on Saturday! She was very prompt and provided excellent customer service..

Email that just went out was interesting. Partly because it may be setting the tone for more detailed communication, and partly because there's no "opening package" as in years past - new included bottles begin in February. Next week we get an "archive" allocation, which presumably for HS is American Anthem and Cherry CR (suggesting they had a ton of left over stock as opposed to re-brewing).

Did they say what merch comes with memberships this year?

 

No merch, instead there’s more included beer.

 

Can the guest pick up his/her guest pass or does it have to be the original owner of the membership?

 

I agree, it's a little disappointing. Opened a CCR last night in honor of this threader, tasting REAL good btw.

Since 10/1, Attaboysenberry was the only new thing I bought, and a couple second chancers (Terreux them all, Foster, RWBT). That's pretty disappointing that for 1/4 of the membership, basically nothing came out that I wanted (and me sleeping on Churrosity- which was a selfing!) Hopefully we can start this year off with a bang, once things start rolling!

 

To be fair, having the staff go from 0-60 a couple days after the holidays for a big allocation probably sucks. Waiting a month doesn't bother me.

I actually liked Q4 the best last year. Atta, West Wood, American Copper, BA 10 Lords were all 2018 highlights for me. Hoarder Cuvee was great (despite price). I haven't tried Rutherford yet but I'm excited for that, and I'm excited for the recent Hoarder box (also haven't dipped into yet). And, I've consistently enjoyed the last five months of Offshoot releases way more than the prior releases. Mmm good!
