Went with Tell No Tales tonight... As a huge Autumn Maple fan I've always felt like this beer is less than it could have been.

It's mellowed out nicely and I would say is now equally enjoyable to an Autumn Maple (balance was off when more fresh). But still fails to raise the bar.

I'm smoking a tri tip today which has given me the urge to open a Smoking Wood Bourbon bal-aged today or tomorrow.
    Happy Thanksgiving all!

    Last night Apfelsap—love that beer
Today E Ruther. Been saving it for this. But Picasso sounds really good... save for the weekend I guess. Also will bring out back to basics for sharing as many of my crew will love that one. (I do too!)

My dad just texted me asking if I'm a Reserve member, he wanted to get me that for Christmas. Since I already am Reserve, I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for other brewery memberships that are worth it for SoCal.

Modern Times seems like a good one, but I can't quite tell if they are open for new members, anyone know?

Bottle Logic only does membership via Week of Logic, right?

Cellador could be nice, but there's doesn't completely excite me. Am I wrong there?

Anyway, open to anyone's ideas or suggestions.

Sierra Nevada Alpha Hop sign-ups are happening late this year. Expecting to get info in a couple weeks.

Typically you'd want to be in Norcal, but they've alluded 2021 might be virtual given Covid. The July and November allotments were shipped this year for that reason.

This is my third year and I have enjoyed it. Sierra isn't quite as good as Bruery at barrel aging yet, but nothing has sucked and some have been real winners.

If you're interested DM me and I can share the friend and family invite when it comes out. Usually works out around $400 after tax.

Oh damn... the Double Barrel Vanilla from the BT Virtual Box is fantastic! Rich and decadent. Tons of vanilla. Super boozy but not harsh - great sipper. Surprisingly chewy body given how thin BT can be.

Honestly, it's like the experience of a really well made artisanal cocktail. The bourbon is there, but well blended with the other flavors. Wow!

I can confirm that all of this is correct. Exceeded my high expectations. Favorite Society release from 2020 so far!

Modern times and cellador Ales sold out already.

Slim pickings this late in the year for a membership.

I'd say Modern Times, but yeah, it's closed. I would also suggest Casa Agria, they've been killing it with the haze (if you enjoy that, which I do), I've also heard good things about their clean barrel program.

Anyone know if the Terreux is selling the Bruesicles to go? Also, are they doing 16oz crowlers of the one off BT that are on tap?

Casa is worthwhile The included bottles are pretty much limited to their saisons and wild ales, which is what I think they do best, but you get access to the other stuff, including access before public release. Sounds like they are also doing ba non-wild stuff next year.

Any hidden gems I'm missing in the CyBeer sale so far?

I realize they're not usually "sales" at all, but other than the two large formats, for RS at least, it just seems like the same stuff they've been offering for the last 60 days or so. Not that it's not good stuff but doesn't seem like there's anything new or exotic.

That was my take as well. Note there is archive stuff in the regular store too that isn't under allocations.

I love the general availability of stuff over the past year or two. The fact I don't need anything now is only because I've already stocked up.

I wouldn't mind a couple Bierbara if those show up in the Christmas sale, but other than that I can't think of anything that's likely to go up that I would want, barring something totally unexpected they've had tucked away for a while.

I don't think so. I was glad to see Joy Ride back and will pick up a couple of those, but I feel like its been in others sales recently and I just missed out? My wife loves Sourrento and Ruebarb so also will have to grab several of those as well. But agreed, I don't see anything I'd call "hard to come by" other than perhaps the Rutherford beers?

Quick question for everyone, even though it seems I may be out of luck: Is there any way for a nonmember to still get a single can of this year's Black Tuesday? I seem to've missed the main window to order, but I know that in years past they've sporadically made them available after the initial release, so I figured it'd be worth asking here (I've also live chatted them on their site, but haven't managed to get a response yet.).

Cans sold out last year never saw after the initial release, never really saw bottles from 19 either, my guess with all the variants this year it might be the same thing

In a way it's good for them that they don't have much OG BT laying around. That means for experiments blended with BT.
