Is it me, or are Bruery's releases tasting a bit sour? First White Chocolate, and now Cacaonut. I hope it doesn't happen with BT. Opinions?
I didt pick any tartness in Cacaonut, I thought it was super beetus but I did have it on tap so who knows bottle wise.
This version of White Oak Sap is a bit more tart than in years prior. Some of the blends are a bit more tart as a result. BT will be safe.
Last Christmas I had White Oak Sap and thought it tasted slightly tart, or fruity. Not sour by any stretch, but I assumed it was the high amount of wheat and the tartness wheat imparts. Since White Oak Sap is the base for White Chocolate and, from what I understand, a component of Cacaonut, I wonder if that's what you're tasting.
Bought a bottle of Cacaonut yesterday and tasted at home immediately. It has a sour aftertaste followed the incredibly sweet initial taste. It says it's a blend of multiple Bruery beers, so perhaps one of the sour beers is the ingredient?
My experience was out of bottle. Perhaps it it does have a blend of a certain sour. I guess it just wasn't the flavor I expected.
I had a taster on draft last night and got a lot of tart flavor. My description was a more sour Melange 3 with added sweetness of chocolate and coconut. I was really looking forward to buying a bottle of it but after the taster I opted to not. I couldn't drink more than a taster. It was good for a taster.
Bourbon barrel aged 5 Golden Rings is a component of Cacaonut, which contains a lot of pineapple. I personally love this beer-- the very slight tartness in the finish helps balance this beer out IMO. Cheers, Patrick The Bruery
sitting on my bottle... loved five golden rings so looking forward to cracking this open... first is bois to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary though!
Not if they just got married this year Funnily enough, I was gifted a bi-monthly (every 2 months) membership to the Beer of the Month club right before my recent wedding, and the second shipment had a bottle of Mariage Parfait. That'll obviously have to be our first year anniversary beer
