Traveling to Bruges for the New Year, so absolutely ANY "beer tips" would be really valuable (sure, except the obvious De Halve Maan Brewery and the official De Struise shop). Also, has anyone ever sent anything from Bruges to another European Union country (Romania, in my case)? I'd be grateful to get some advice on that. Would love to ship a few cases before leaving the city. Thanks a lot and cheers!
You will find plenty of advice for good bars/shops in Bruges if you search the Benelux forum. My personal tip is 't Brugs Beertje (the Bruges Bear), a superb bar. http://www.brugsbeertje.be/index_en.htm For shipping beer, the last time I was there I shipped a box of beer back to the UK. It arrived safely You can probably find out about shipping costs by looking at the BPost website. Just make sure you wrap the bottles well and pad the box out so that nothing moves inside. Bring shipping materials with you if you can (for simplicity), though you can find boxes and bubblewrap in supermarkets (or buy them). Enjoy the New Year there - a good city for it!
