My mom will be there for the day and wants to try some Beligium beer. Is there and breweries or places she should go. Also what are one or two bottles she should look for that can. Make the plane ride back

There's a Benelux forum  Bruges mostly has a lot of way too expensive bottle shops and no real local breweries except for De Halve Maan, that doesn't brew anything special. Just Brugse Zot (dubbel and blonde) and Straffe Hendrik, a quadruple. Bottle-wise I guess you could get just about anything there. Depends what you're looking for.

She could do worse than visiting the Halve Maan brewery (Half Moon brewery) - they do a good tour and she can try some decent Belgian beer. Otherwise, advise her to seek out 't Brugs Beertje - an excellent beer bar located near the centre of the city....

    1) Struise bottle shop. Have a beer there and get some stuff to go.
    2) Brugs Beertje. Awesome beer bar. Best in Brugge by far.

Both are centrally located in the middle of the action so to speak.

Agree with both. The guys at the Struise Beer Shop are very good and well located to tourist attractions. They had some good stuff on tap too. Beertje was very good. Cambrinus is okay but the interesting stuff on their menu was out. De Halve Maan was worth doing the tour even if it was a little touristy. The beer there isn't bad either.

"2 be" is a place that has hundreds, if not thousands, of belgium beers located in a glass case. Some call it the "beer wall." Again, little touristy, but cool seeing all the nice Belgiums in one spot. I haven't sat down to have a beer, but looked like they have an ok selection of beer to buy and a nice terrace out back. Right in the center, so easy to stop by and check out on a nice dat.

Agree with the bar and terrace...very nice place to enjoy a beer, the clientele and canals. I miss it. However, the beer shop has a nice quantity of Belgian beers...but I consider the level of beers pretty pedestrian compared to numerous other locations.
