I should have known better than to be visiting the "Brussels Beer Museum" in Grand Place... Two small rooms (one of which is also the seating area) with very little in either of them, a small amount of old brewing equipment in one and some modern stainless steel brewing equipment in the other. The entry fee of 5 euro included two beers, which they would only sell as "Abbey Blonde" and "Abbey Brown", which I suspect to be Leffe Blond and Brune. Anyone else been to this place?
I've been there before. I remembered it from the Beer Hunter movie as the Brewers Guild House and had to pop in for a visit. How was Brugge?
It was great...other than me being stupid and not checking hours. Still managed to visit De Halve Maan, Duvelorium and Cafe Rose Red though
Rose Red is a great place to have a beer or 2. Too bad the Brugge Bear was closed that day, I imagine that's what you meant by hours.
I thought the tour at De Halve Mann was excellent. It's nice how they have mixed the history of the brewery/museum pieces and how it relates to the current brewing operation. That one in Brussels is a joke.
Didn't get the chance to do the tour, unfortunately. I basically only had an hour of beer time in total in Bruges but it was great to sip an unfiltered Brugse Zot in their garden.
Also missed that Got there, even took photos of the outside, then realized it didn't open until 4. My fault for not checking opening times. Did the same for La Trappiste. Honestly wasn't too devastated, I loved every place I visited.
