Got a tweet from my local shop today that said they got a Sierra Nevada-RR collaboration wild ale. We don't hear the words wild ale and Russian River very often here in Wisconsin so needless to say I was excited. Anyway I picked up two bottle(they said its prolly gonna be a 1 bottle limit but i got to it before it even hit the shelves so they gave me two!) but haven't heard much (anything) on the threads about it. Anyone know anything?

From recent reports you want to throw it into the closet for about a month. Other than that should be a tasty beverage. I think i'll open mine this weekend.

I had it fresh the day RR tapped their first keg, and I think it was delicious. While there I overheard some real beer geeks saying it could use some age, so if you have multiple bottles try them in stages. My bottles are under the house as we speak, I CAN'T WAIT! Haha

I had a bottle the other day. While I did think it was delicious, I think it'd definitely worth buying an extra bottle to save and let the brett really take over. Has some great green grass and pear nuances to it, but can imagine it'll get way funkier over time.

I thought it was really tasty, but it's a straight forward no bells and whistles brett beer so if you go in expecting something like consecration it might throw you off...but I found it really nice and have a couple of bottles I plan to age. One for a year and the other one for several. If you enjoy brett, you should really like it. Personally I'd pop one and see what you think if I hadn't tried it and then decide how long to sit on the other one.

I actually found it randomly last week at my nearest bevmo. I only picked up one bottle so I'll probably take the advice to let it sit for a month or two. I'm definitely excited as well, these two breweries are up there in my favorites.

Bland and expensive, IMO. I know people will pontificate - "OMG U DRANK 2 EARLY!!1!π!" - but, when a beer is released it should be delicious and worth the money that day.

I haven't seen any yet, but I think it is worth people's time to do some google searching about homebrewed beers with brett. so they can learn a thing or two.

I ran into a similar situation today. There were 2 cases sitting on the floor of a bottle shop that hadn't been put on the shelf yet. I inquired and was able to purchase one. Maybe I should go back and pick up another...

I managed to get hold of 3. Haven't yet opened one. I'm thinking to wait for a nice rainy fall evening for he first and go from there.

Whatever you do, don't drink it anytime soon.

It was just released around here also, was able to grab 2, looking forward to trying one fresh and aging the other.

Brett develops with age but doesn't go from a 1 to an 11 on the funk scale because you put some bottles in your closet for a while. I haven't had this yet but it sounds like a fairly subtle brett beer. With SN involved it probably is (Symposium sour anyone? It might go from a 1 to a 3.

edit: just saw that it's only bottle conditioned with brett B. Don't expect too much with age.

Would anyone dare compare this to the Lost Abbey/New Belgium Brett beer? I had that and didn't really care for it. Not a drain pour, but a struggle to finish a bomber by myself. Hoping BRUX is better.

I had Mo' Bretta last night and liked it a lot. Is Brett beer just their version of what Lost Abbey brewed? New Belgium made a horrid version of Vrienden with Allagash. I would imagine their version of Mo' Bretta is pretty bad.

I imagine Mo'Bretta is a completely different beer. Never had the opportunity to try it.

'Brett Beer' is the newest (?) Lips of Faith beer from New Belgium. It's blah.

Yeah but it says Lost Abbey on the label (glancing at the BA profile pic now). So I imagine it's their take on a 100% brett beer probably using their house yeast? NB's logo is on the Mo'Bretta bottle.

If you are in Lost Abbey's distribution I'd imagine you can find this new release of Mo' Bretta.

There is one released by each brewery. The lost abbey one was much nicer for me. The NB was much lighter in flavor
