Does Belgium import a lot of “Bud”, honestly it is very hard to find Budweiser in Belgium. I have only ever seen at some “British themed” pubs and I think those were not Belgian bottles and said “Budweiser”. It is not that I am trying to find it but I never see it in supermarkets, bars, night shops, restaurants,…. I haven’t even seen it in a local store that specializes in American products & sells imported Coors Light. It simply doesn’t appear to exist in Belgium.

The Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press seem to think so, based on the caption to that photo.
Of course, "on display" probably simply refers to in AB-InBev's corporate headquarters there .

But the point of the post was not where or how much of its "Budweiser" ABI exports, but where they can on cannot legally market it under that name, and the alternative "Bud" branding they use where they can't.

Budweiser has done a lot for beer in the United States. A lot. Some of it has been bad, some of it has been good. But consider this - without Budweiser (or the other big guys), a lot of that craft beer you enjoy wouldn't make it to the store without big-beer owned distributors. Some of it would, sure, but it takes a lot of big beer to get craft beer to your store.

Thankfully, the days of 100% Share of Mind are behind us, and we can all stop harping on them as massive corporate devils. They may not be angels, but I think that suggesting they should disappear from the States is a bit over-dramatic - and yeah, I get that you're probably half-kidding. I'm not trying to chide you or scold you, just raising the point that this industry is far from the black-v-white/us-v-them dichotomy that a lot of craft brewers would have you believe.

Why does it still say "Budweiser" on the neck if they can't use the name?

Even though Bud can be sold in Germany, clearly all of this (and probably some of the backlash) has impacted it. Miller is a LOT more common than Bud over there.

Sadly around 1990 BC (Before I was into Craft beer) I was in Italy and ordered a Budweiser, it said right on the can "contains formaldehyde". I did not drink it. Mixed drinks it was.

Their beer is a disgusting excuse for what a beer should taste like. Unless you are part of the Budweiser family or have stock in their product, don't take it personally.

Strangely enough both forms of Budweiser are to be found on British shelves, often side by side and even though the labels are fairly similar I haven't heard of any problems. A-B Inbev has spent a lot of money on lawyers litigating about things which really don't affect sales anyway.People know which one they want, buy that and leave the other.

There's a great brewpub right in Florence near the train station. Went there three times I liked it so much!

Spotted the new Budweiser label for the first time last night. Was just as excited for the new label as I was to have some fresh Budweiser; old stock from July had been sitting on shelves for a few months.

Hah. Well, the bottles I'm drinking right now are real nice. Super fresh I think it's a great beer, a few months old and it's allright but certainly loses a little something. The one I'm drinking now was bottled two weeks ago, I doubt you can get it nearly that fresh in Arizona.
