Pale generally refers to the color. Light generally refers to the body and/or calorie content.

How can you be an AB employee when your avatar is triple-hopped?

Come down to Florida and I'm sure you can meet him. As far as a born on date check the bottom of the can they always put the month, date and year there.

I hear where you're coming from and am glad you have chimed in on this thread, but I have a hard time believing the line quoted above. Any one of them could make world class beer? Joe Shmoe brewer at Bud could walk out the door and brew Heady Topper? Again, I see what you're getting it, but I think that's a stretch.

Also, in my experience, the large brewers have more supporters than non-supporters on this website. While it may be "cool" to take a jab at Miller Light by saying you use it to wash your car on Saturdays, the large number of folks on this message board spend at least some of their beer money on a product made by either Abinbev or MillerCoors. That's just my observation, I am sure others will disagree.

Actually what I don't care for is how A-B and now A-B InBev files frivolous lawsuits against craft brewers with only bad intentions (and not to protect any trademark or I.P.). The first reason for these lawsuits is to try to get the craft brewer to give up something that's made it popular. For example, like when they sued Dogfish Head over the use of Punkin. The second reason is, when they file these lawsuits, they hope the small craft brewer will fight it. AB-InBev has cash to burn on lawyers, in house counsel, etc. The small guys don't. So in fighting, and wasting money, they hope it either eats up cash which then can't be used to make product or the financial stress it puts on the brewery causes the brewery to go under, thus eliminating competition. DFH didn't give up and they didn't shut down - just look at how big they've become now.

I can meet the brewer already. I drive to Brooklyn Brewery 35 minutes away, go on a tour and ACTUALLY talk to the people who make my beer. And not watch them online in a video.

That sir, is what I don't care for. Let the product stand on its own, without multimillion dollar ad campaigns, beer can/bottle gimmicks, etc.

My issue is AB's business model. I don't care about their beer as much as I care about a massive international corporation actively trying to destroy competition.

I'm not going to flame their employees, to include their brewmasters. It's not like they are all of a sudden going to say corporate, "I've switched Bud over to an IPA...deal with it." They don't have a choice in what they make while they are employed at the macros. And yes, they can leave and go elsewhere. But it's foremost an income and I'm sure many have families to provide for. There's plenty of risk that we as consumers do not have to assume if they are to make that jump.

With all the being said...I think BMC business practices freakin' suck.

As much as BMC is shit on here it is actually impressive what they do there. Making an AAL or light lager is not as easy as it seems, and to consistently make the same product time after time is impressive. It isn't what I look for in a beer, but there is a reason they are so widely popular.

Why does this matter to us (the BA community) on any level?

Anheuser-Busch brewers are world-class. If the bean-counters would let them, they could probably smoke just about any brewer on this Earth. But many BAs would still hate. Even if their marketing dept only targeted small, hard to reach pockets of the country and 100% of profits were donated to "local Mom and Pops".. Such is the overwhelming hate for "the Man" by such a tiny portion of the beer drinking public.

I'll drink a Bud if it's free. Actually not too bad in a can or draft, in bottle it's just gross. It actually sells really well in my area even in bars that have craft beers.

I'd say this is a highly effective commercial since it has you all talking about it on this site.

The issue with AB is not the brewers. AC Golden makes some great beer. I am such the folks at AB could do the same if provided the means and opportunity.

The issue with AB is the business model, IMO.
