Kind of surprised there isn't a whole lot of discussion about this brewery on here. Have enjoyed most of the stuff they put out (especially the Gingerbread Stout!).

They are releasing their DIPA today, More Cowbell. Anyone had this? How does it compare to some of the other Houston IPA's?

I've enjoyed it. It's creamy, lots of citrus, not too bitter. A bit unique compared to other local DIPAs. Not my favorite (Hop Delusion, Endeavour both better for me), but it's a good beer. Haven't had Lone Pint Jabberwocky yet, so can't compare them.

Good to hear! Probably wont be able to grab any being down in Galveston this weekend but hopefully will find it on tap somewhere.

I've tried most of their stuff. They are mostly a small-batch experimental brewery so obviously there will be some misses but for the most part I like what they're doing.

The Hibiscus Wit is coming back this summer (launches today at Flying Saucer and Hay Merchant) and I know a lot of people really loved it. I wasn't against it but I much preferred some of their other wit experiments, like the blood orange wit.

Also this Sunday night, Mongoose will have another keg of the Baboon vs Flamingo Midnight Ale that they had at their grand opening. It's a jaggery IPA. Wacky but it was quite delicious last year.

And you can still find Smoked Cherry Blonde at some places around town. It's not bad, and as it warms the cherry comes out a lot more.

Yuck didnt like that one. All ginger for me. After drinking it I had a taste of ginger from the spice drawer and it was basically the same thing. That said I like to try all of their experiments, but rarely went back for another glass. That said More Cowbell was a pretty good one and I will likely buy a bottle to drink again.

Are any of their bottles on the shelf anywhere around Houston/Galveston? Would like to take some back to Dallas.

Brandon had probably 15+ cases of it yesterday at D&Q. I'm guessing it won't be flying out the door though.

$9 a bomber, no thanks. It's decent, but that's almost as much as Dreadnaught or Permanent funeral and more than Pliny and isn't even close to Endeavour.

From my understanding, it only went to Downtown Specs and D&Q.

Couldnt be anymore true. I just had a friend send me some Pliny, def didnt end up being $9/bottle a bottle or less.

I'm just speaking from a quality perspective. Nine dollars for a DIPA better be something nicer than More Cowbell.

I just did some math, and the case I had shipped to me came out to 6.25/bottle. Pliny comes in 500mL as opposed to the 22oz, so there's a slight difference there, but still cheaper dollar:fl oz.

Endeavour, Double Jack, Enjoy By. Double Jack is Austin only (for now) and Enjoy By isn't an everyday seller but those are some quality IIPA's in bombers cheaper than $9 as mentioned above.
