I bet it shows up around town on tap.

I believe Witchcraft has it on tap right now. Might try and swing by tomorrow to try it.

Had this last night at witchcraft tavern. I loved it. Great quad, very subtle fig notes.

May have to swing over there tonight and try it so I can decide whether or not I want to buy a bottle. Kind of tempted to do the side-by-side with DR13 just to see.

Did the bottles only go to Midtown and maybe D&Q? I have no idea how much was made.

I think the bottles will release Friday and there will be a lot of it... I know Brandon at D&Q has ordered 20+ cases

I love Quads... I hope this is good....

Not sure I want to pay 15 bucks if that is the price per bottle.. then I'll probably just hope Nobi gets some on tap to try.

Confirmed that the price point is the same as gingerbread

Inventory at Exclusive Food Mart on West Rd and Telge. Not sure of the price but you can call the store and find out.

Over a hundred pounds of Turkish Figs overnighted bc I'm anal retentive about having the highest quality ingredients on the planet. Also, we hand bottle, label & wax dip. Keep in mind, we did 750 barrels last year, STA did 50x & KBC did 10x that. We're still really really really small. Will drop prices as costs go down. We brought on part time help and did nothing but bottle, label & wax dip all week & I'm still at the brewery now with 80 more cases to wax dip for tomorrow. Wax dipping sucks but I'm super obsessed with quality and I've had too many beers explode in the mail or oxidize over time (EVERY cap bleeds) for me to produce any age-able beer without wax dipping.

I totally get how expensive this is & how completely unknown it is. So we'll be pouring samples in the morning at Spec's & D&Q so you can taste it before buying, and also you can come to our ope house on Saturday & we'll have it on tap for $2/ half pint. If you can't make it this Saturday, I'm free Weds night if anyone wants to come by the brewery. I'll pour Figaro for free if you bring something tasty to share.

We have no plans to make this beer again. It was fun, but it was hard as hell. It took literally 1.5 years of research & it took so long to ferment it drove a mack truck through our production planning (we literally don't have a keg of 1836 to sell tomorrow).

Also, we could do cheaper beers, but then we'd have to go on kickstarter to fund our tasting room. Man, y'all get derisive on these forums! But that one was epic, and 100% earned.

I guess the big thing I want to say is that I hope you know I'm not trying to price gauge. This beer is a lower margin than our draught offerings, and significantly less profitable than 1836 (which is the only reasons our lights are still on, so stop badmouthing it!). Everyone says they want us in bottles, so I oblige even though it's harder & more variable. We set the price where we can make the same money as in kegs, and I actually don't want it to sell too fast because the average person walks into Spec's and doesn't know we exist because we sell out so quickly! We're not price gouging, or dishonest at all, I promise. Come meet me in person & chat it out if you have any doubts.

I love these kinds of posts. Thank you.

Any plans on sending beer out to ATX on a regular basis? I know Sam from E1G got a couple cases from ya earlier this month (thanks! I was able to get some Gingerbread Stout from him), but I'd love to see it more regularly and on tap.

Also, I love that the wax thing partially comes from trading, lol.

Honesty in brewing, along with enthusiasm and humor go a long way.

I love the fact that you are putting all of this out in the open. Also glad we got a chance to talk at D&Q earlier this evening, it cleared up a bunch of my questions.

For what its worth, I had a bottle tonight and enjoyed it. Thought it was decently complex, improved as it warmed, and will be picking up more bottles.

And if you are serious about a Wednesday tasting, I would gladly bring a few things!

Thanks BuffBrew for your response, it's refreshing to hear an up and coming brewery who hasn't lost sight of what craft beer is really all about. Keep up the good work, I plan to pick up a few bottles of Figaro now and will look for more of your other brews on tap to support you guys.

Agreed, and agreed. I've got nothing on my calendar next Wednesday so I'd love to come by and hang out. Probably have a bottle or 2 I could bring.

I assume this is Rassul responding.... so thanks for taking the time to address our question respectfully and intelligently. It is very awesome of you to offer samples at your brewery... that being said, you have sold me on the brew and I'll retract my previous statement and grab a couple of bottles this afternoon. I am happy to help a neighborhood business that produces quality products and is upfront and honest about what they do.

    Cheers!

Wow. Other brewers (who will go unnamed, but come on, you know) could certainly learn a lot from you about honesty, integrity and the way to interact with your consumers. Being in Austin I havent had a chance to try your beer, but after this I certainly would.

Thanks for the response Buffbrew. I'll probably pick up a bottle just because of this very response.
