I'm in Buffalo for work the next few days and I was wondering where I should go to get some bottles that I can't get in Chicago. Also, any special releases that I should keep an eye out for?

Don't think there is anything in Bflo that you can't get in Chicago-probably the opposite. Try Village Beer Merchant on Elmwood Ave. in Bflo & ask for Vinnie. Knowledgable, friendly, great place-NY state beers like Ithaca & Flying Bison & others are available here. If you were in town until next Saturday you could catch a great tasting event at Southern Tier Brewery about an hour south of town.
Looking for dinner try Black Rock Cafe on Amherst St. If you are in the suburbs let me know where & I'll make some other suggestions

You picked a bad time to come as Buffalos Best Beer Selection (Premier Gourmet) is in the process of moving to a new location and have been liquidating their stock before the move...its pretty slim pickings there at this point until they shut down and move.

Village Beer Merchant is your next best option than there are plenty of locations of Consumers, some are better than others.

If you are looking at decent beer bars, you can hit Blue Monk, Coles, Mr. Goodbar, Pizza Plant, or McGregors.

Avoid Pearl Street downtown, nice building, average food, really mediocre beer.

Problem with Consumers is your dealing with a 20 year old kid who knpwledge & experience may be lacking

Both people are right here...Ive gone to some Consumers and you will have someone hawk you who knows nothing about craft beer except for what their manager tells them to push.
