In an effort to rehash our old thread, I figured I would start a new one and announce a tasting date. Saturday, March 31st. 7pm. I will play host. Our normal tasting group (which consists of 6 BA members and 2 non BA members) have been kicking around the idea for our next tasting for a couple of weeks but could not come up with a date. If anyone else who has not attended one of our tastings would like to join, please feel free to reply to the thread or beer mail me.
I might be able to make it. Shoot me over details and let me know if there is any particular type of beer I should bring.
Ill pull out all my greatest stouts (which I own zero of). Check that, I do have bottles of Black Tuesday.
Im torn on what to open...if Pete shows up, I think itll be time to crack open Popskull and Poppaskull. I also want to try the bottles from the Cigar City/Bruery Dos Costas Osta series.
Sounds like a fun tasting. We'll have to have a combo Buffalo/Rochester tasting one of these days. I'll be watching the Final 4 the night of your tasting. Enjoy it - Cheers!
I sent out Tweets to the guys from Community Beer Works, MainSpring Brewing, and Big Ditch Brewing. I would be cool if they all could come because I am curious to hear their individual stories on where there are now with opening dates, the struggles with opening a place in NY, and What direction they plan on going. Also, Rochester guys are always welcome to join too...the more, the merrier.
We would love to have you Buff Buffalo guys come up to Rochester for a tasting It's in the workes and the beers are awesome usually between 25-40 people and lots of good beer at a great local watering hole. I will keep you guys up to date if you like. In addition, I probably cant make the 31st but would love to hook up with everyone in Buffalo sometime in the future. I have a nice celler just give me the scoop. Have a couple friends with amazing cellars too. Cheers. Joe
One day away...if you want in, then this is your last chance. We are looking at about 7-9 guys and some really solid bottles being opened (even if some of them are Stouts)
