building a keezer any advice?

    Just picked up a GE chest freezer for $60. It's 2 months old and 5cubic feet.

    -do it right the first time so you dont have to keep upgrading it.
    -measure out enough space for kegs and (if you're keeping them inside) tanks. don't include the shelf if you dont have the vertical space, which you probably wont.
    -get forward sealing faucets that dont get stuck all the time

    -it's really easy. i was able to figure it out and i'm a **** with this kind of stuff.

    I hate to answer a question with a question: How far are you going with this? Drilling for taps? Building a showcase?

    In addition to what beersader suggested:

    Determine your layout before you buy your kegs/tank. You can use paper cut-outs to check your options.
    It really is easier to get high quality parts at the beginning, eliminate the "I should-of's".
    When buying kegs, remember the +1 x 2 rule. This works for all your small hardware parts also.
    You may be an average-beer-guy, but when you finish the project you will be a better-than-average plumber. (And no, it's not really difficult, you just learn many new skills/techniques)

    I recommend you do not keep receipts so you never know how much it costs.
