Hi, Anyone have a recommendation for a beer fridge (standard cabinet height), with a glass door that can be used in a built in unit? Everything I see seems to be focused on cans. I'd love something flexible enough to accommodate a mix of cans, bottles and large format bottles. Any advice would be great.
Thanks for posting. It was getting dusty around here. Unless you go to commercial appliances your options are limited. Cabinet height refrigerators (dorm fridges) are small, so you can't get too many bottles in them upright. But they do hold lots of cans of course. Trying to get a mix of formats into the small fridge is going to be frustrating; there just isn't much space in there. A wine fridge with a flat coil offers the most room but the cooling capacity in a wine unit is tiny and wont hold 38F. And the wire shelves are designed to hold the bottles on their side, not upright. But they do often use a piezo electric cooling system, so no hump for the compressor = more space for beer. The majority of home appliances are not designed for built in use. The appliance must vent forward and that is not standard. Your fridge will die sooner than later and it will struggle to keep the beer cold (38). I really advise against stuffing a compressor into a cabinet. It will fry. But, if you have the money you can get a True or a BevAir or a Marvel or many others. Go commercial grade. Real commercial not the B.S. commercial GE or Samsung are claiming. Cheers.
I'm willing to go to about 1000 USD for a 24 inch wide unit. Marvel seems to be more expensive. I was starting to lean towards - this unit: https://www.amazon.com/Kalamera-Bev...ds_browse-bin:4086604011,p_36:2673999011&th=1
