Not a bad deal on those hops.

I'm holding out for another month or so. I've got my eye's peeled out for some more stuff this year.

If I miss Citra and Amarillo, thats fine by me.

I'm wanting a boatload of Columbus, Chinook, and Simcoe this year. Oh, and Apollo.

I don't want to thread jack, but how long can you keep pellet hops in the fridge or freezer if they're still sealed in the packaging?

I keep pound bags of Warrior and Falconers Flight in the freezer and make an excellent IPA or Pale ale out of them whenever that keg runs dry. Although the pound bag of FF gets replenished much more frequently than the Warrior as I use it pretty heavily in the flavor and aroma stages of the process.

Assuming your PA/IPA's are all American styles, and I were limited to 5, I'd probably go with Magnum & Columbus for bittering and Centennial, Cascade & Simcoe/Mosaic for aroma. I think you'd be able to create a lot of nice combinations with those varieties.

    My Current stores:
    Magnum
    Galaxy
    Pacifica
    Willamette
    EKG
    Simcoe
    Crystal
    Nelson S
    CTZ
    H.Mittlefruh

I use a lot of EKG, Willamette, Crystal and Galaxy in various beers. 80% of the beers I make are Blondes, Pales, Bitters or lagers. So I can hit a lot of them with those hops.

Very handy info. I've got a couple bags that I should probably finish off fairly soon. Most are in no danger tho. All have been kept at freezer temperatures the entire time. I can't see why anyone wouldn't store their hops in the freezer. I have never noticed any degradation, even with one small bag that got lost in the freezer and was probably at least a year old, opened, (but still in the mylar bag, also in a ziploc, tightly closed, air purged etc). I do intend to use up the rest of my opened leaf hops in the next couple batches (that's not a lot tho, maybe eight to ten oz, and they're not that old). Since leaf hops reportedly degrade faster, I'm a bit more careful with those. But still not worried.

Since my other computer took a nosedive, I am not sure what my hops inventory is. They're split between two freezers at two locations, so I don't think I'm very worried about it either.

I just bulk buy hops because they're way cheaper that way. I order grains the day I brew (or a day or so before). My LHBS is close and open seven days, but the bulk hops are still way cheaper.

If I was just starting out, this is what I would consider. And, mostly half pounds for variety reasons.
Ahtanum Under utilized hop IMO (aroma)
Cascade Classic, never lets you down (aroma)
Centennial I might consider getting a full pound of this one (bittering and aroma)
Chinook Another original C-hop, and classic for american pales (bittering and aroma)
Citra A new favorite, you may want to jump on these (aroma)
Simcoe Might want a pound of these, my favorite hop behind Amarillo (bittering and aroma)
Wilamette I think this is a very under rated hop, and a must have since it plays very well with others (aroma)
Zythos A blend built for IPA's, why not.

At this point in the brewing year...it's more (IMO) about product availability at reasonable prices.

LP sells HopUnion products...so it's the good stuff...mon.
