C'mon, now. I can support all the beer advertising, even unrelated products are okay. But can the line be drawn here please? There has to be a way to vet the advertising supported on the site.

I suppose money is money. The vast majority of us sell out a lot of our principles for a paycheck every Friday. Imagine what job you would have if money wasn't a concern

    1) Most of the advertising on here is centered to the users search/browsing history - needless to say there have been some amusing misunderstandings about this in the past.

    2) Buy a premium membership and you won't have any ads.

Oh, no wonder I keep getting ads for Girls Gone Wild videos and Oscar Mayer bologna.

    I imagine that's hyperbole.

And those are just the ads you can mention here.

Weird. Never google searched anything about wall-building on our southern border.

But if you've googled something about political candidates? or even Politics ... that could trigger it.

Some of the ads are due to one's own browsing history, but others aren't (in my case, a majority aren't). As far as I know, the owners of this site do not have control over what ads fill the space though. Ignore the ads or pay for them to go away.

Just went premium. Worth the $2 a month to avoid the rage-triggers.

    An ad causes you rage?

You should get that looked at.

More or less, correct. We do sell ads into the system, but those are typically beer-related. Everything else comes from countless sources to fill our inventory. Those sources use numerous methods to target you, like your browsing and search history, location and businesses you visit, online forms you fill out, purchasing habits, the apps you have on your phone, the emails you send and receive, the posts you make on Facebook, the "private" messages you send, behavior on your local network from other users, and countless others data points that you clicked "I agree" to without reading the terms.

I don't get a paycheck and Kevin McCarthy is a spine-challenged shill. When they showed him the box, he got in like a kitten.

I only go on BeerAdvocate on my work computer, which makes the beer and vape ads a bit concerning. Lot of generator and electrical components ads as well, so at least I'm doing my job
