"After 4 months of aging in Brandy Barrels, we are releasing the first beer in our Triptych Series of barrel-aged Belgian beers. The Rosary Export Stout is a beer from our classic series of Belgian ales and is made with an abundance of black and brown malts. Expect coffee and plum aromas and a rich, yet not too sweet, flavor. This barrel- aged version is taking it to a whole new level. We will be releasing just 30 cases of this brew on Saturday May 16th. We open at 2PM. Limit 6 per person. $17/750ml."

I will be in Asheville this Saturday and am thinking of picking some up. Anybody know anything about it?

Four months in the barrel? I mean really, is there going to be any barrel characteristics at that point?
And a 6pp limit? Would that be like what 60 people if everyone purchases the max allotment?

I'm not defending it, just complicating the issue. 4 months isn't outrageous. For instance, BASC is only 6 months I think. Just drink it fresh and pray it's worth 17 clams.

If anyone can pick this up for me would be more than happy to trade for it. Will be up in asheville Saturday or Sunday and getting some golden angel.

    Thanks!

Anyone of this still around? I'll be in town this weekend as well. Worth the price? 4 months in the barrel makes me skeptical of it as well.

This hit Charlotte today. I know Good Bottle and The Beer Growler posted about it, and I assume it hit other stores as well. Just an FYI for those interested.

Weird for such small production. I just assumed it would sell out at the brewery.

Drinking one right now. Has all the flavor and character of a 10%+ BA stout but at only 7.5%. Creamy mouthfeel, fudge in the nose and a smooth, rich chocolate/vanilla taste with just enough barrel character. Totally worth the money. Burial knocks it out of the park again.

Totally agree with that review. Shared my first last night. Great body and BA character, very smooth, and more enjoyable at the lower ABV. A really delicious stout.

Might have to pick one of these up if they're still around after work today. Over/under $15?

Did they end up having this on tap, or just bottles?
