I work at a bottle shop and just found a 2009 Sam Smith Yorkshire Stingo hidden under a floorstack! FYI it's an oak aged, bottle conditioned strong ale, 9.0 abv. What do you think the chances are it's held up over the last 3 years?

    Also: Best buried treasures thread.

Stumbled upon the previous beer-buyer's stash of Stone Vertical Epics 2001-2006, and a bottle of cognac that had to have been down there for at least 20 years! Cognac was unbelievably mellow. Waiting til 12/12/12 for the Vertical tasting...

You mean Vertical Epic 02-11? You should find your best/favorite customers and have them come enjoy the Vertical with you.

My best find happened a few months ago when I found a couple 4-packs of 3 Philosophers that were vintage 2009. Absolutely delicious stuff.

Drinking an 09 Stingo would be infanticide. That baby could probably go 10-20 years.

Found a few bottles of cuvee van de kaiser blauw 2008 a few months ago for $11. I was afraid they'd been sitting in the light for four years as this was a so-so liquor store so I only bought one. Turned out to be delicious so I went back two weeks later and bought the other three 2008 bottles. Not a crazy whale or anything but I was more than satisfied.

I found a place nearby with Lagunitas Ruben and The Jets, GD 15th Anniversary, Petrus Aged Pale and Tripel from 2003, and Weyerbacher Quad from 2008. Not to mention dozens of unheard of Belgian stuff. I thought I died and went to heaven. I've been slowly buying their stock down when I can afford it.
