Hello all, I have a friend visiting in Burlington and doesn't mind bringing me back a couple of beers (I'm in Houston), are there any good bottle shops in that area, and any recommendation on tasty beers?! Stouts, IPAs, or anything in general? Thanks in advance.

I believe there is a Wal-Mart in Burlington If you have a car you could drive to Beer Study in Chapel Hill. It's not terribly far. You could also go to Al's while you're there.
Again, if he has a car and some time, Saxapahaw isn’t too bad of a drive. He could grab you some cans and/or growlers from Haw River Farmhouse Ales. Other than that I second the Beer Study and Al’s Burger Shack advice. Or Weaver Street Market in Hillsborough, they have a pretty great selection and is just a town or two over depending on where exactly he is.
If in Saxapahaw, you can sometimes find some other NC cans at Saxapahaw General Store (which is also a great brunch/lunch spot).
Just down the road from Burlington on I-40 is the Red Oak brewery. A top beer from the area. A little pricey, but if he can keep it cold as the brewer suggests, its a fantastic beer. One of my faves. Cheers!
