    Hi all,

Heading to Burlington VT tomorrow night for a few/too many beers - anywhere I should specifically head for? Archive and Farmhouse Tap seem to get good reviews, any other ideas from the locals?

    Cheers

I haven't been to The Archives so can't speak to that one, but Farmhouse Tap & Grill is usually a must stop for me. I also try and hit Mule Bar in Winooski if possible, which is right down the street from Four Quarters Brewing.

You didn't ask about food, but Hen of the Wood is phenomenal. If you don't have a reservation, try and get there right at the open for a seat at the bar and happy hour. Snack on the Parker House Rolls and HoTW Toast.

Pine street pub crawl is a good way to spend an evening. Burlington beer company - switchback- zero gravity-Pizza 45/Queen City.
Foam is also worth a stop, more so for the setting that the beer imo.

Any recap you care to share of the trip? Good, bad, otherwise?

Why do so many Foam beers have this weird lemon lime strange almost sour flavor in every beer hoppy beer? I assume the year profile?

Well, let's see......our first stop on the way to Burlington (aside from getting a flat on 89 and need to find an open tire store on a Satruday afternoon....) was Alchemist in Stowe. Finally had a chance to try Rapture which was fantastic, but the draft Heady tasted quite different to cans in my opinion - pretty bitter and not so great.

Anyways, the mate I was with is not a big beer drinker and stuck to water in Burlington. So we went to Farmhouse for dinner (food was good, and they had Edward and a Veil brew on tap) and then down the road to Archives for a bit which was fun (had a Focal Banger and . But didn't get the chance to do some of the brewery stop-ins I was hoping for - another time....

Had the hand pulled heady when there a week ago, and pretty much agree with you. A fun novelty (and no-brainer at $5), but I didn't really like it much. I miss it being on regular draft at Hen of the Woods.

Snagged a 4 pack of the same Rapture batch and it is an incredible beer.

To piggyback off this: what’s good in Stowe these days for food and drink? Is Idletyme Brewing worth it for dinner and a couple beers? The outdoor bar looks rad. What other good outdoor bars/patios in Stowe?

haven't been in a few years but the outdoor bar at Idletyme has always been a stop for me.

It's all open again, and the kitchen got a complete re-haul. I feared ordering lunch at the outdoor bar as they were slammed on a Saturday re-opening week, but the regular bartender that has always been great reassured me - got my beer instantly and my lunch only 10min. later. 4 beers on tap the first week, but back up to normal by now. Great taplist and new menu looks awesome, as did the plates I observed around me. Glad they still have the cheddar fritters!
I'm also very fond of the menu & extensive taplist at The Bench...
