Hey, anyone been there? Wife and I are thinking of going to see a band play there in a few weeks, wonder what their beer is like. I love their aesthetics, and they seem to have an attitude that agrees with me, but it's all about their beer first, and the actual space second.
    What's the word?
    thanks in advance

Been there twice. To me the beer was mediocre overall but a couple I enjoyed. Coconauts was a good pale wheat with coconut but that might be a summer beer only. Express-O face was a pretty good oatmeal coffee stout. But the other samples I had were meh.

It would be great if there was a website, where people posted beer reviews ... perhaps even place reviews.

Did you check to see if there were any place reviews listed for Burn 'en Down before posting?

I never said there was. I was just imaging a grand warehouse of beer information. Burn'em could even be included.

Wow what a great imagination. I thought you were smarmily suggesting he check this site for information.

I did, because I never heard of them and they have zero place reviews and the beers on tap right now only have a few reviews.

Good luck OP, if you go, could you report back?

Right, I checked this website for place reviews and found none. Individual beer reviews don't do much for me when I'm completely unfamiliar with any of their product.
But some people sometimes feel the need....
I'll give a report when we go.

Very cool spot and the guys that run it are great. You going to the 4/20ish party? Bring blunt wraps...

Been there a half dozen times or so and personally I enjoy the place. Most of the beers I've had have been ok to good. I've had a couple that were very good. At times they brew some weird shit that I just stay away from. Service is at the counter to the right as you walk in. They have a limited food menu that I've not tried but looks ok. Very small space inside with more space outdoors with heaters. They do a lot of events that get packed. From the vibe and activity at the place I believe they have a very strong, local following. The place is owned by a couple of brothers who learned to brew at Greenbush just down the road in Michigan. The vibe is a couple of bros and their buddies, who like to imbibe in other recreational activities (hence the name), brewing beer and having a party at their place in the woods.

Curious to know what you think. Also, lots of other places to check out if you have the time.

Went there for the first time last weekend. Agree with @ja1022 - small space set in the woods. Ample parking across the road. The stout I had was good.

    Is it legal in Indiana?
Anyhoo, the place sounds pretty cool, and yeah, we were looking at the 4/20ish party, mostly because we really dig Left Lane Cruiser, but the brewery sounds more and more up my alley. I'm hoping my wife's schedule will allow us to attend.

I went there for the first time on 3/18. I was surprised by how small it is, and where exactly it's located (not really near anything else of note). Other than that, I dug the five beers I had and the vibe of the place. The two guys working in the tap room were super cool. I picked up some cans and enjoyed those as well. Cool spot, but I'd be interested to see how they do anything described as a party, seeing how tight on space they are. Definitely worth checking out though.

As a native son of Michigan City, I'd say there's nothing "of note" until you're in another state.

C'mon.... an outlet mall in the shadow of a cooling tower, and a well-billboarded brewery that was around way before the boom... Michigan City's got some character, man!!!!

I am fan of Hop Parade. Am not a fan of the price they charge for their beer. Not to sound redundant, but the place is small. Give it a try.

It's a cool spot. It's basically an old house along the woods with a small taproom in what would have been a living room. On the average day, most of the drinking is done on the side porch.

That said, for big events, they basically throw a big backyard party with a seating tent, beer tent, small stage, and even a fortune teller.

It's a cool place run by cool, nice people. I've always had a good time striking up conversations with strangers at Burn Em. Lots of friendly hippies.

They like to go wild with adjuncts, which isn't my thing, but they do some more true to style beers as well, which are solid. I recommend the Duke silver porter.
