I feel like Burns doesn't get as much recognition around here as some other breweries. For my $, they're in the top tier of breweries in Denver and make some unique beers. Their 5th anniversary party is coming up soon, so I thought I'd spread the word. Here are the special releases and a link to the event below which is free to attend. Hope to see you there! --> Bibben - A Whiskey Barrel-Aged Black Barleywine --> Corroborator - A Bourbon Barrel-Aged Doppelbock --> Stomp Twice, Wildly -- A Barrel-Aged Wild Belgian Oenobier, a collaboration with Verboten Brewing --> Yearbearer Solar Eclipse -- A blend of the past 4 Triple Barrel Aged Solar Eclipses --> Eihwaz Solar Eclipse -- 4x BA Solar Eclipse, Russian Imperial Stout --> No. VII -- Oaked Pilsner --> Marie Caroline -- A Blended Oenobier (A special pour of a previously -released FAMILY exclusive.) https://www.eventbrite.com/e/take-f...ith-us-tickets-692638148347?aff=oddtdtcreator
Burns stuff always runs a bit hot for my tastes. I know that big beers are their thing, but they typically taste every bit as strong as they are vs. trying to hide it a bit. They do seem to have a pretty fanatical following, so it's probably just me, though.
Interesting. I actually stopped drinking high ABV beers for a while, and their offerings got me back into them again, though I still mainly try to stick to lagers and low ABV hoppy beers for the most part. Though, as you said, they’re known for their big beers, they pretty much always have a stellar Pilsner on tap (I believe it won a gold medal at GABF sometime in the 90s), and over the summer they’ve been doing a traditional Kolsch service every Sunday. I think it ends this week, but they’re replacing it with an Alt service for the fall and winter. So, they do have a diverse menu of beers usually and brew traditional styles fairly often… also you can get a 20% stout that apparently has been aged in 12 different barrels at their anniversary party lol. Cheers!
