Figured I'd start this thread to consolidate comments about this beer store in a single place.

I have never set foot inside this store, and nor will I ever. I first found out about them via Instagram. A buddy of mine from Florida actually introduced me to their Instagram feed (go figure). They did a random giveaway which included some solid brews. All you needed to enter their contest was tag a friend on their feed and use a hashtag. Free publicity which was a solid move on their part...seriously.

They frequently post pictures about their latest deliveries and special releases. They ship to every state (I think, which is surprising) and seem like really cool guys. Then I saw a post about Other Half Brewing's Green Diamond cans pictures for sale. Normally it wouldn't phase me, but those cans sold out from the brewery in a day. None made it to distribution. Absolutely none, as confirmed by the guys at Other Half.

This weekend, the brewery did an onsite-only release of single hopped IPAs Citra and Nelson Sauvin. This time, cans sold out in about 5 hours on Sunday. I didn't think much of it since I got the 4-packs I wanted. Today rolls around and I happened to be checking my Instagram feed when I see another post from Bushwick's Fine Fare's. This time, they have Citra and Nelson cans up for sale for the low low price of $25 per 4-pack. For IPAs. IPAs which sold out from the brewery at $16 a 4-pack. And they ship to ALL states.

This time, I was pissed. I let it slide the first time with Green Diamonds, but this time it was blatant considering so many people called them out on their feed and here on BA the first time. I posted a comment, tagging Other Half's IG feed. My account was promptly blocked and my comment deleted. Unreal.

This is why I wanted to start this thread. Other users have reported the listings to Other Half, beermenus, and on here. This is just my opinion, but when a brewery I support busts their ass to bring us their product in a can after months of pleas and I see it getting up charged by more than 50% when it wasn't even distributed really bothered me. Don't support these guys. Aside from Other Half cans, they also sell Great Lakes products - I.e. Chillwave - out of market.

Has anyone had good experiences with Bushwick's Fine Fare? Or are they going by the ways of Eagle Provisions?

In Pittsburgh, they'd probably charge you $50 for it. Ya lucky bastards.

And sorry to thread jack, but what happened to Eagle Provisions? I used to shop there all the time, way back in the day.

All the wannabe artists living in Bushwick with trust funds (we call them "Trustafarians" here) will buy it up and not give 2 $h1t$ about it. Supply & demand is what it's all about in NYC. BFF doesn't care about the scene plain and simple. C.R.E.A.M.

I posted a 1-star review on yelp (seemingly deleted now), and I would highly suggest others do the same. There's about 4 1 start reviews that are still on there, which is nice to see. What's sad is I bet some people are actually going to see this thread and use it as a motivation to go there and pick up cans they missed. Maybe I'm a bit too jaded, but I bet at least someone sees it and gets excited about the opportunity.

No worries. I don't know the specifics, but I saw a few posts around KBS day that said they were closing up shop. Didn't stop them from selling bottles of KBS for I think $20. Maybe others can confirm?

Went there once since they had double crooked tree and Sump listed on their beer menu updated that morning. Went in the am and was told they sold out of Sumo days ago. Figured I still could get double crooked. Came home and drank it and tasted like a barleywine. Love this beer fresh but this was at least a year old. The whole time I was there, a beer guy was trying to swindle a noob into buying as much beer as possible. Must have been an out of towner and just kept being bombarded by this dude. I couldn't even hold a conversation with him constantly interrupting. Was ridiculous. Only good thing that came out of it was I scooped up a 4 pack of plead the fifth.

Why is Yelp removing reviews? Kind of defeats the purpose of user reviews if businesses are able to have the bad ones removed.

My guess is the company can claim they are not true or something... Or they pay yelp to take some down.

For anyone who has had theirs removed, if you have time, post it again and see what happens. Lets make it hard for these guys to continue to have to monitor Yelp and try to get the reviews removed.

FYI, the business can't delete the review themselves - they can flag the review, which Yelp will then review and decide whether to delete or not. If you signed up for Yelp and your first review was a one-star review for BFF, there's a good chance it got deleted.

Makes sense. Anyone here who has a longstanding Yelp account should do a review and it won't get taken down.

I've had yelp for about 5 yeas and have 78 reviews and my review is still up. Hopefully it stays there.

Beer Menus replied to me about them: "Thanks for the heads up, we greatly appreciate it!"

    That's about it...

A little clarifiation on the Yelp thing. Your review probably isn't deleted (unless you included some seriously offensive language). It's filtered into the "not recommended" section, which you can access on the bottom of the page. If you keep reviewing businesses, Yelp will eventually bump your review into the main section.

Speaking about their "giveaway," I'm pretty sure that was a publicity trap. They posted a handful of sought after beers as part of their "giveaway" to build up a ton of followers. Then they actually gave away only one or two of the beers.

They've deleted the post after I commented asking who won.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this.
