any of you guys ever buy beers online? just bought some from the best damn beer shop. very pricey but if it goes well i might use it occasionally to snag a few things from around the country that they have access to that we do not...interested to hear about any one else's experience or take on the whole thing in general.

I was in a situation for a few years where I was living in a very dry area, my only option was to either travel two hours away or buy beer online. I've done business with probably a half dozen different shops that ship. Except for being expensive of course, my experiences have been very positive. These places tend to pack their boxes very well with specialized packing material that ensures what you order gets to you safely.

There are some annoying factors. $30 shipping minimum even if you're just buying one bottle. Having to buy 6 or 12 bottles, or spend at least $150 to be granted the privilege to buy certain bottles is a tad irritating too. But I suppose it's possible you could run into those conditions at any establishment.

You may want to look into Tavour.com. 15$ flat rate shipping no matter how much you buy, and it doesn't cost anything to sign up. I have bought a ton of beer from it. They get a lot of stuff that is not available, Had a couple Prairie Artisan Ales and FunkWerks beers great service. This link will get you 10$ free credit after your first order. https://www.tavour.com/?invitedby=16317

Yeah, I've been getting the Tavour emails for a few months now. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet, but a couple of my friends buy stuff regularly. They're very happy with Tavour.

craftshack.com is awesome for California beers. 8-9 bottles costs about 28 dollars in shipping. They use those wine bottle shippers that i can reuse for trades.

I used http://www.luekensliquors.com/ once and had decent results. I had bought 4 bottles from them and they arrived safe and well packed, however, one of them was definitely past its best buy date. I called them out on it but they didn't seem to care too much. Overall a 3.5/5 experience.

I am on those email lists as well...ive been tempted a few times but havent pulled the trigger either...I am sure I will one day but I enjoy going and looking at beer aisles too much and generally have an overstocked supply of non-cellar-able beers...

This is why I am most weary of them...lots of the stuff I would buy on a somewhat regular basis would be IPAs we dont get up on here (Knee Deeps IPAs, Kern Rivers IPAs, Two Hearted, etc.) so it would be a real bummer if i spent a bunch of money for a box of stale IPAs.
