    Hello all,

I've been reading through the forums about kegerators and any reviews/experiences I can find. I'm looking to purchase a kegerator but I do have a budget, and I don't want to be in 1k market. I was curious if anyone has had any experience with this kegerator (Versonel VSL155TDSS), or have any insight/thoughts? I am a tinkerer, and love beer so I figured its finally time to invest.

    The kegerator: http://www.amazon.com/Versonel-VSL1.../ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top/178-5124334-3227717

Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated!

By the pics it has that Mickey Mouse regulator/co2 hose. Which will be a problem if you ever decide or need to change out a coupler or adapt longer co2 hose.
Not gonna say it's a piece of shit to your face but just remember the old saying you get what you pay for.
For that price range I would try to find a haier or Danby unit. I think you would be better off.

Either that or you could always make one for a fraction of the cost. You can always replace the regulator, lines and connections to your liking. Hell, I made my kegerator and got one at a insane deal on craigslist.

If you're someone who likes to tinker, making your own kegerator might be up your alley. However if you just want to buy one new and enjoy it - go right ahead and see how things work. I would highly recommend changing the beer line out for 10' instead of the 5 that they provide so you'll avoid some foaming issues.

Thanks to both of you for your comments, I really appreciate it. I've read about swapping for a longer line sounds like something i will def have to do if i get a cheaper unit. I will look into Haier/Danby as well and see what i can find.

    Thanks all

If you guys don't mind, would something like this be a better choice? I'd like to buy one under 1k for my first since I'm new. Couldn't find too many haier kegerators, a lot are out of stock, assuming they are in demand must be a good thing.

    Thanks for everything.

Try Beverage Factory also. I got my Haier through them, although they no longer carry them. It was double tap with stainless tower and with shipping it was around $750 so their prices were reasonable. They run the range of units from lower end up through Beverage Air. Longer lines and a tower cooler and off the the races.
