Though I'm from there originally and I still have family there, I live in NC now. OK with picking me up? AnyWho... it was nice to combine the drive up there for a wedding with a beer run. Given how incredible the beer is coming out of New England these daze, it may be time to move back. :grinning:

Shhh. Nobody say a word! A dear price was paid for this:

Wednesday (9/30): Out the door with the dog / co-pilot (Hank) at 3 AM. Destinations: (i) Hartford area to sniff around for some Lawson's (no luck) and I had to race to get to (ii) Tree House before they closed @ 6. I was told by the better 1/2 during a phone call earlier in the day that they would only have a 4 can pp limit on Alter Ego. Thank goodness they kept canning throughout the day and added 8 cans of C22 to the availability list by the time I arrived at 5:10. It would have sucked if only 4 cans were available. Great folks there and when people say they have an incredibly efficient operation, they are not kidding. (iii) Race to Boston to see if I could catch Trillium before they closed @ 7. Had 15 minutes to spare before they closed but simply not enough time to park and find the place so off to Logan to pick up the wife who flew in. What's wrong with this picture?

Thursday (10/1): Out the door @ 4 AM with the wife and Hank. Destinations: (i) Hunger Mountain. Tried to see if they would give the dog a ticket... but... no luck. Scored 2 cases of Heady and while in line got some tips from a very seasoned beer scout on how to land some Lawson's SoS that day. Seeing that the drops of that didn't start until around 10 AM and it was 8:30 when we were leaving Hunger Mountain, we decided to (ii) run up to Waterbury to see if any Heady remained from deliveries earlier in the week. Waterbury netted us another 4-4 packs. (iii) Off to Warren where the truck carrying Lawson's was just unloading. Talk about perfect timing. Checked out with 1 case of SoS and 1 case of Super Session. We had never tried SS so thought we'd give it a try. (iv) Back to Mass to meet up with the family for dinner and a few beers that were accumulated throughout the day.

Friday (10/2): Out the door with the wife and Hank @ at the very reasonable hour of 11 AM. Destinations: (i) Austin St, Bissell Bros and Foundation. Thank goodness they are all next to one another. Tried Foundation's Epiphany and thought it was outstanding but figured we hold off on any purchases until we tried all three breweries. While at Bissell Bros a local guy who was a part of a couple we struck up a conversion with said "HEY! Look... Foundation is selling Epiphany and that's not going to be around for long". That was my cue. Sprinted back into Foundation (with the guy on my heels) and grabbed a case. (ii) Back to Mass feeling very satisfied that we, arguably, landed some of the best IPA's out there. Now we had the rest of the weekend to focus on being with family. Oh... did I mention the whole purpose of the trip was to attend my youngest Niece's wedding? Sure had my Mom wondering after a couple of daze of running all over the place.

Monday (10/5): Out the door @ 3 AM with the wife and Hank. Destinations: (i) Logan to drop off the wife for her early flight and (ii) Chapel Hill. Arrival time 6 PM and 2,600 miles added to the rental car odometer. A brutal trip but heck... we sure have a fridge to admire. At least until depletion sets in. Especially after a buddy shows up this weekend for a stop-over before resuming the 2nd leg of his migration from his home in Mass to West Palm. Good thing he's bringing some Second Fiddle with him. Looking forward to giving that one a go.

    Cheers, guys...

everybody is awesome. Thanks a million for the tips. I think my best bet is to hold off until next thursday when it's not a holiday weekend, and I can leave at an earlier time.

I'll be in MA on a business trip but have to do training on Thursday morning. I'll have Thursday afternoon to drive up there and then Friday morning to seek and buy. Looking to get three 4-packs if possible. How good are my chances of doing that, and what do the delivery times look like on a Friday? I have to be at the Boston airport by 7:00pm. Thanks

Treehouse thursday and trillium friday would be my recommendation. Your chances of finding three 4 packs in stowe/morrisville friday morning around very good. Treehouse/trillium would be alot less driving, you would be able to get just as much or more beer, just as good quality or better. On the other hand hill farmstead isn't to far from stowe.

I got there last Thursday at 9:15a and there was no line and about 15-20 cases on a rolling cart. I have no idea if there was more out back, but it did seem like most people shopping already had a case in their carts.

For someone driving to Hill Farmstead from Boston early on a Friday and then staying in Waterbury/Stowe that night, any chances I'll find more than a few straggler 4-packs of Heady in stores?

went to hunger mt. on Thursday, we got there at 8:10 and the line was already 100 people. I was ticket number 101. Line moved fast, in and out of there before 9. Stopped back around noon to grab dbl sunshine and all signs of heady were gone.

How much heady were you able to get being 101? I ask since as Bevy Warehouse you'd be SOL most likely that deep in line.

I believe Hunger Mointain gets around 150 cases each Thursday and every person can buy a case. The limit never drops from what I've seen.

Sorry if this is too late to help, but Morrisville isn't far from Stowe and they get deliveries on Friday. You could stop by Lost Nation while you're there, too.

Lost Nation was definitely part of the plan. Where in Morrisville?

Uh, I just asked at Lost Nation and they suggested a place in town whose name escapes me. I think it might have been Tomlison's? It was a Friday in August (2014) and they had a whole bunch of the stuff, 2 4-packs per person. There are like three other stores in that area that get deliveries that day, and Morrisville is pretty far off the beaten path, so it's probably worth checking a few of them out.

I'd advise waking up earlier if you want to make sure you get a case.
