I traded a Rare, BCBVS, and a third bottle ('09 Bomber or Bramble possibly?) for one and was honestly surprised that got done.

 

Actually, I think based on what I've seen them pull that's probably a pretty fair deal. They're obviously the most sought after stouts produced so demand is pretty crazy. That being said ... I'm probably done trading for them.

 

After having rare and bbdl and bvdl I would keep my rare...

 

BVDL was much better than Rare IMO. All a matter of opinion. Idk if I'd rather have rare, vanilla, and bramble or BVDL, but BVDL definitely tastes the best of the 4 to me by a longshot.

 

Yah I dunno If it was the pour I had at dld but it was waaaay to sweet for me, rare is perfect imho.

 

I'd rather have the Bourbon County trio, but I agree BVDL is the best of the 4.

 

Anyone think a 2013 Utopias and 2x Backyard Rye would get it done?

 

That's hard to say. I kind of think not, but never know. Utopias is one beer that obviously costs a ton, but isn't particularly hard to get from a mule or whatever. At least that's what I've found.

 

Utopias won't pull it. Neither would a BCBVS.

 

Agree I'd have the trio. BVDL is phenomenal and better but I would not pass up 3 of the best Bourbon County variants out there over it.

 

Honestly, I was super impressed this year. I thought coffee was incredible, backyard wasn't over fruited like I thought bramble was, and proprietors was awesome because I liked the coconut sweetness as much or more than the vanilla sweetness. The whole bourbon county line is just great.

 

What's the general consensus on Cable Car 13' going 1:1 with a BVDL? Similar price point, as far as I know CC has a lower bottle count, I'm sure I'm missing some factors to take into account.

 

Not sure about the 2013, but I needed to add a 2013 CR and 2011 BT in order to land a 2012.

 

I feel like BVDL is just really hard because it's pure luck to even get one. At least for Cable Car, if you were wiling to drive you got one.

 

I see your point about pure luck on the BVDL. Although Cable Car is a bit of a luck of the draw as well, you either need to have the sickness we do where we scout these forums/social networks or are just a Toronado regular cause it's not like they put a sign on the door telling you when it's going to be released.

 

I traded rare, fou foune, black tuesday, moat water and one other for a BVDL last year. worth it

I also traded a beat B001 1:1 for a 13 this year.
