    1. They can't be that valuable if they are ipa's, no ipa whales. 2. If you don't plan to share, don't leave it.in the fridge when you have a party. 3. Teach your friends to know that if there's only 1 of something in the fridge because it probably wasn't just bought down the street. 4. Most importantly, why are you trading for ipas, I'm sure there are tons of fresh tasty ones available to you locally.

Everyone knows not to touch the contents of my beer fridge without asking. :stuck_out_tongue: Luckily, most of my & my husband's friends don't want it anyway (they like Coors or Bud and I don't usually have any). But if they're curious, I'll always open something for them!

You have to remember that when people drink a lot their inhibitions are dramatically lowered. The beer "goggles" don't just make faces more appealing. Food and drink are also at the mercy of inebriation. Some people lose self control. You have to know it's coming whether you're the party goer or the party thrower. Wise up and take the necessary precautions. Hey, you've got to hide your beer away...

And don't invite less desirables that would do this.

The way I see it OP has every right to be mad. I couldn't imagine going through someones fridge and just taking stuff out without asking. For those who say the fridge shouldn't be on the deck well I don't see that as an invitation to raid the fridge without asking. It's simple manners.

I always hide my good stuff when we have get togethers, just in case something like that should happen. Sorry to hear about your loss!

Your friends suck at BYOB. If I don't leave extra beer at the end of a party, I feel like a worthless failure.

    New acronym: BMOYOBTYWD.

Bring more of your own beer than you will drink.

I dont understand how people are making this out to be your fault at all. You already laid down the rules by saying it was a byob party. Just cause you invite someone over that doesnt mean you have to share everything. I never have BMC products stocked in my fridge. Just like when i go to someones house i dont expect to be offered a craft beer. Guess im just an asshole.

There is nothing better than sharing with someone who appreciates a good beer. Likewise there is nothing worse than listening to someone bitch about the taste of a beer as they "choke down" a beer that was hard to find a expensive! I hate that shit as well!

Real talk: you are really some special kind of ***** to come on this forum and talk shit about your friends to the world on this forum instead of using the pair God gave you and politely telling them at the party to respect the stash.

Ha, which helps keep beer safe from my guests, but not from me! :grinning:

At my parties I tend to have "party beers", craft beers that are easy to find, and then whatever my guests end up bringing. I struggle when I run out because I'm usually good and drunk and I usually decide it's time to hit my special bombers. :grimacing:

Luckily pretty much all my friends are craft beer drinkers.

When it comes to friends and family...what's mine is theirs and what's theirs is mine? I might bad mouth them behind their backs the next day on a geek forum to let off steam but in the end it would all be good. :sunglasses:

I often share great beers with my cheap ass roommate, he in turn has recently bought a few decent but cheap grocery store beers from rogue, Lagunitas, etc. What pisses me off is that he's drank a few my hard to get beers like a Citra that I was suppose to trade, a batch 1 bitches brew from 2010 that I was hoping to age and a 2008 stone IRS. He dumped the IRS cause he said his girlfriend thought it was too strong >( Then offered to give me $7.00 for it. I don't leave good beer around him anymore!!

I bet most folks on this site are the "go to" guy or gal for beer amongst the people they socialize with. People look forward to what is in my fridge--I look forward to sharing.

I might put KBS and Black Note to the side or stick it in the crisper with a "NO" on it--mainly because most wouldn't like it and there are others I feel they would like/appreciate more and not because I don't want to share.

It baffles me why people like parties. I'd much rather invite my besty, my husband and maybe one or two close friends with. I don't socialize a ton but those who I do invite to my abode are welcome to the best of everything I have, no holds barred. If I am going somewhere else I will bring about 12 bottles. Enough to share some and drink one myself. That way I can maybe make a new friend to talk serious beer with and not break the bank.
