bought a dual gauge regulator for about a 100 bucks, having issues leaking in multiple places and giving up on it and returning it, think I'll go simple with a two gauge single line so what is the best quality, don't mind spending the money just want a maintenance free unit

What dual body regulator did you purchase? If it was from Taprite, I have the same, and have had no issues.

Micromatic regulators have performed head and shoulders above others for me. But nothing in kegging is maintenance free (forever).

regulators are spotty. your experience is not unique, sometimes they just don't work right out of the box.

Taprite is very good regulator. you can buy a Micromatic pro, but they are not any better. as good and they cost more. Cornelius is also a quality brand. Norgren and Chudnow are two more brands.

return the regulator, i am sure any business that deals with beer equipment knows well enough that they sent a dud. it happens too frequently.
    Cheers.
